This is all related to the architecture. This is not a SDV and therefore they do not really patch in many cases. They really flash and run a new software on the vehicle, which is related to the very specific configuration on each car. That's also the reason, why some cars, with the same update...

I also have no real use for the clock and the track gadget. But it comes with the GTS and at least looks neat on the dashboard. I wouldn't have it ordered if it would be offered as option, like on the other models. The compass you can display digitally, but I also do not really have a use case...
