Not a blunder. The essence of the car doesn’t depend on the HUD. You didn’t like a previous HUD. You’ve got a bit of buyer’s remorse - it’ll pass.
My suspicion - this is a new trade concept based on tariffs. Get the last pre-tariff model of something that is quite desirable at as low a price as possible, wait for tariffs to bite and then sell at an inflated price. Car-bitrage, if you like.
For me the only use would be on long, complex road trips where you actively want a co-driver to deal with directions, keep an eye out for hazards etc., and the angle of the screen made their life easier than peering across to the main screen.
Everything else, tell the passenger to bring their...
Tesla owner here (4S on order) - make sure you're fully charged. Do engage launch control in the Porsche if you're doing a 0-60 (100) run. For overtaking runs you've got no choice. Mash pedal without warning, upset passengers.
In my Tesla it can be a bit cagey if you take two bites out of the...
Any intrepid owners doing any light off-roading? How are your wheels and tyres/tires holding up? We’re looking to buy a property a good distance down a gravel/unpaved road and we’re infinitesimally concerned about the longevity of the rubber and rims.
My SA said the same whilst I was putting the order in last week - any recalls or other “stops” on the system and they’re not allowed to give me the car. He says it happened for a couple of owners this month.
Gentian Blue + Bordeaux 4S just ordered in Vancouver:

Currently scheduled for August delivery. Second Porsche (992 C4S sold as I left the UK), second EV (M3 Perf bought as I entered Canada). Wouldn't have changed at this time if the whole Musk/US thing...
Had the same issue with a Mercedes-based motorhome (Carthago, from Germany). It seems to be something dealers forget to do! Irritating when you've set off from cold UK and find yourself in warm France with no cooling.
Somewhat reminiscent of a problem that kept my 992 C4S off the road for three months (out of the 12 that I owned it!). The dynamic engine mounts were incorrectly installed (and as a result failed). Took three weeks to diagnose and the rest of the time to get replacements from Germany, to the UK...
Blue owners - how easy are you finding it to keep clean? I live in a town that's either wet, snowy and wet, dusty, or dusty and wet. But I love the blue. Am I setting myself up for a full-time job washing my soon-to-be finalized Gentian Blue 4S?
Absolutely not dissing Innodrive - but the Sea to Sky is a little different to those freeways around LA. One or two lanes at most, extremely bendy, populated mostly by psychotic truck drivers with lane-crossing tendencies or dawdling sightseers (it really is a beautiful road, the 99). Little...
Reviving an old thread with a tangentially relevant answer. Tesla Model 3 with the latest FSD owner here - it can't successfully get from Horseshoe Bay to my house. It occasionally wants to swing over the road to a few random side roads (it signals, which is nice, but given it's got the route...
Cheers. Having driven down to Anacortes from Whistler in the past, I didn't find any "better quality" road surfaces! Will try heading east when the Macan arrives and report back if I find any.
