Check Back Seat warning keeps going off?!

Every third or fourth time I lock the car it gives me like 5 or 6 beeps in a row and the app warns me to check the back seat. There is nothing back there and no one has sat back there. Any idea what’s up? Seat belt sensor?

every time you open the back door it will beep 5 times when you lock the car to remind you to check the backseat. You can turn this off in your settings though.

I used that Carista app to modify the seat belt beeps. They were driving me crazy. With car seats installed and no kids in them the car would beep as if someone was sitting unbelted. I would have to put the seat belts on around the car seat when the kids weren't even riding. Got tired of it and used that app. Signed up for a month then going to cancel.

I believe it’s in the vehicle setting in the instrument cluster, not the infotainment screen. I think. It’s just labeled “check back seat” with an on/off toggle.

Yup the setting for this is in the instrument cluster. I beleive it's abbreviated as "RSA" or something similar to that. Turned it off and no more beeps for me. No idea why that's on by default

So the one called "Rear seat rem" is the one you want.

It’s on by default because some parents have forgotten their children in the back seat in 100+ degree summer days. For example a father who normally doesn’t drop his child off. He’s in a hurry and forgets the baby in the back seat. It happens believe it or not.

I've been having the issue was well i think its because you leave something heavy on the back seats.

It comes on anytime you have opened the rear doors.

Comes on factory but you can turn it off in the dashboard settings. If you prefer it on, you can also press the lock on the fob once it starts to beep and it’ll stop.
