I wonder what mean without options this time? Asking money for rear camera, keyless entry, heated seats or ambient lighting in 2024 is a shame. If that's the case the starting price for the Macan EV is 100k.
Thanks for the article, it makes a lot of sense because Rimac developed their motors not outsourced a weaker motor from a supplier.
In 2020 Porsche also needed to beat the Model S 0-60 but because Taycan was heavier they had to use a shorter 1st gear to extract more torque. If the battery or...
Now Porsche should explain to us why they went for 1 speed gearbox and ditched the 2 speed.
The development was finished 2-3 years ago probably so not too far from the Taycan's development.
I don't mind the split headlights but the lower lights are big, on the Purosangue those are slimmer and somehow hidden. Looks like its the same headlight from the I7.
I don't like the front bumper, too boring, maybe the GTS/Turbo version will look more interesting.
Who is going to support the PCM6 in Taycan? Cariad seems working on Android automotive OS now. I hope Porsche won't forget their first EV.
Put the 100kwh battery in the Taycan and you get the same range or maybe more at high speed.
I can't find any innovation in the Macan EV still heavy and...
I don't understand why it took 5 years for Porsche to develop the Macan EV with very similar Taycan tech. Maybe I'm wrong I don't see what's new in the PPE platform aside of bigger battery.
Now they have Rimac on their side to share technology but before they weren't.
I assume Porsche did a back 2 back test with or without gearbox in the Taycan development but there was something weak in their 1-speed drivetrain than made them take the more complicated route.
I think Porsche's goal with 2-speed gearbox was to beat the Model S speed and acceleration with off-the-shelf motors/inverters. Turbo S is a very fast car for almost anyone but now they have to make a 3-motor version again to beat the Plaid because Tesla moves too fast.
The new motors are...
