There’s no guidance in the Taycan manual about not putting car seats in the rear with the side airbags and there is no way to turn them off - unlike the front airbags.
The only guidance there is is that occupants should not lean on the doors and items should not protrude out of the door...
I was told by Porsche that there is no risk to children in car seats from the rear side airbags.
this is completely different to the front airbags where the car seat moves the child closer to the explosive force of the airbag...
I would add that the Porsche Experience you get with a new Porsche (at Silverstone in the UK) is something else and something I’m not aware you get with other manufacturers. That beats any test drive or handover in terms of getting to know the car.
I’m staggered my local Audi dealerships are...
I experienced this on a test drive yesterday from South London. The description from @SteveP matches my experience where it lost the assistance system going out on the A20 and then they came back at the same place on the return leg.
This was polarising on the Taycan too. You need to try it, however I wouldn’t worry about upkeep, like @Throb I haven’t found the need to clean it and it looks like new after a year.
for the record I love mine on my Taycan, I find it soft and I could grip it lighter than a leather steering wheel.
