This might help in my situation too. But really hate to do it. At least last five years I've religiously followed the rule that you have to start to drive immediately after the battery reaches 100%.
Maybe I should create a new thread, but I noticed a few mentions of high-voltage fixes on earlier pages. I just returned from an Easter road trip in the EU. This was the first time I fast-charged my 2025 Macan after the software update. I used five different modern 200–300 kW chargers from...
These features can't be hard to copy between model year SW variants. My guess is that Porsche just wants to avoid the extra testing and the update campaign.
Is this official messaging from Porsche? “Look and feel” can only mean UI updates. If it actually refers to the already ongoing campaign, the communication is very incompetent.
Exactly. It very much feels this update mainly just updated the error thresholds and some other parameters in the internal configuration. There is a message buried in this thread indicating that. Someone was watching while the update happened at the dealer if I remember correctly.
I guess...
Is anyone able to confirm that Macan got the Cariad SW 1.2 in the end? I mean Porsche didn't build their own SW at the last minute?
If that's the case then now Cariad is maintaining SW 1.2 which presumably has branched to Macan 2025, Macan 2026, and Cayenne versions? Macan 2025 possibly being...
I got XLC Azura Easy bike rack. Can recommend, feels sturdy and little cheaper than Thule.
One annoying this is that the current speed limit sign doesn't go above 80km/h in trailer mode. Does anyone know how to disable that? Rack's manual says you can drive up to 130km/h.
I bet it must a Porsche issue. Cell networks are very proven tech nowadays. And usually time is synced from NTP servers which are not part of telco network.
Interesting to see if Porsche is forced to do a OTA update :)
50% charge is the theoretical storage sweet spot for big batteries, minimal amount of stress for the chemistry. Even I think there is very little difference between 50% and let's say 80% in practise.
My experience is that as a new owner, you make sure the car is charged exactly to 50% and plugged in with that limit. Then, you worry daily about the charging status while away.
When the car gets older, you simply make sure the charge is between 70-80% and leave it wherever, without bothering...
I hope this too. I think Porsche should have learned to think software as a platform by now with this Android based OS. Meaning same code base should support all model years and also upcoming Cayenne cars. This would allow shipping constant updates and features a la Tesla. Maybe I'm too optimistic..
I think, in general, the expected relatively steep depreciation is all about the battery. What else could it be? Electric motors are known to be robust, and more or less all other parts are the same or missing compared to gas cars. The main concern is the uncertainty about the battery after 5+...
