I would consider upgrading to the 4S since you would take delivery sooner and have a faster vehicle for only a few thousand British pounds more.
If budget is a concern then you could partially offset the higher cost by eliminating some of the cosmetic options like black door handles and...
Just placed my Volcano Grey 4S order with a $5,000 USD deposit (configuration link below). Decided to upgrade from standard interior to $960 leather package in black after seeing it at the dealership and also added rear axle steering after speaking with a driver at PEC Atlanta. Splurged on the...
I realize there are tons of threads on the GT Sport versus Standard steering wheel on other ICE Macan forums, however these two steering wheels are not as different on the Macan EV.
As you can see in the attached photos (GT on top), the buttons and center trim are exactly the same. The main...
That does concern me a bit about being an early adopter of the Macan EV. The Taycan experienced severe depreciation during the past year and I’m afraid the Macan will suffer the same fate, particularly once redesigned versions are released with the onboard charger adopting the NACS standard.
Here’s a few other forum discussions on Black vs JBM which I read while doing my own research on this topic:

Odd that the Leather Package in Black does not include the dashboard lower section. In fact, it doesn’t mention the dashboard at all, yet the configurator shows stitching on the upper dash for the non-turbo models when this option is selected (as tmrqs pointed out).
I plan to order a 4S in Volcano Grey as well. I was going back and forth between the side blades in the standard gray plastic vs high gloss black vs painted in exterior color. Ultimately I decided to play it safe and go with side blades in matching exterior color but did change the window trim...
Looks great! I particularly like the blacked-out look and the red seat belts!
I'm considering adding the ridiculously overpriced option to color the Sports Chrono/Compass red to match the seat belts.
Yeah, RAS does significantly reduce turning radius on the Macan although this thread was about limiting budget.
I’m not one to speak though since I’ve been failing in my recent attempts to limit my own Macan budget!
The driver at Atlanta PEC agreed that upgrading from the base Macan to the 4 was well worth it, and more beneficial than upgrading from the 4 to 4S unless you need the additional acceleration.
I’m selecting the 4S rather than adding more performance options on the 4 since it was only about $4K...
True, but slightly tighter than a Cayenne! 😉
I was also trying to keep my budget down but couldn’t avoid picking several fun cosmetic options on my Macan build.
If you’re really trying to reduce the budget then I would skip rear axle steering as the Macan already has a short turning radius and Sports Chrono in an EV.
However, I would consider upgrading to at least 14-way seats since you’ll use them every day and they have the biggest impact on comfort.
Cookie, thanks for raising this issue. I plan to order the dashcam prep to be safe.
Not sure if it will be compatible with the two dashcams I’m considering — Blackvue DR970X-2CH and Thinkware U3000.
