This has got to be the most cynical thread in the forum I’ve seen thus far… all good when viewed in that lens - but a couple of posts had me worried at first (especially from @daveo4EV 😂)

+1 - we’ve all been holding our breath on this (and other CarPlay features) since discussion last year. Let’s hope this feature does get rolled out to all Macan EVs (including those already delivered) and doesn’t turn out to be an additional hardware dependant or “2026+ Model build” only type...

If you haven’t found already - Would assume activating on the seatbelt ‘hug’ (part of Proactive Occupant Protection) is the opposite of turning it off. From further down the manual that @cottony screenshot:

Maybe just take a vehicle for a test drive to see how you feel when it’s connected to your driving input. Listening to a flat sound file may/will not give the ‘connected’ experience. (I’m pretty sure most/all demo cars will have this option as Porsche it’s a relatively ‘easy’ sell for them).

If it makes you feel better, the number of times I’ve ever seen the matrix headlight function activate in my Macan is the grand total of zero. 😂 - Having said that, I’ve only done like 220kms in 3 weeks. If it’s anything like our other cars, there’s quite a specific scenario for it to activate...

If your budget allows and you think you’ll like/use - then just get it. It’s one of those options that I didn’t configure originally but my SA suggested I just include as it actually involves installation of an external speaker as well (not just sound piped inside). So if you want it later...

I totally agree - with camera/vision/radar systems already built in to the vehicle this absolutely should be the way forward. However as @themacnut has also pointed out (above), system integration, UI/UX hasn’t been one of Porsche’s strongest suits… I guess the beauty with a ‘bolt-on’ Dashcam...
