There is no way Porsche is going to eat 25% tariff, they will probably eat like half because otherwise they are going to have very little sales.
Unfortunately my Macan is on a boat that just passed Panama Canal, so unless Trump changes his mind, will be affected by the tariff. I am definitely...
Well based on other threads, it seems like the traction battery only charges the 12V when it's plugged in or the car is running, it does make a difference.
Yeah I stupidly thought the pre-wiring option mean you can literally plug and play the Porsche dashcam, making the $500 sub-par dashcam worth it. But nope, on top of the overpriced dashcam, need to pay a dealer thousands of dollars to install it, more than an aftermarket dashcam installed by a...
Anyone know the dimensions of the back seat, like the post #5 here https://www.macanforum.com/threads/macan-interior-dimensions.14665/ where it shows min/max of 570 to 820mm?
Problem seems to be two fold here.
1. There appears to be a bug that is causing some 12V to prematurely die.
2. A poorly designed recovery mechanism for when the 12V goes flat that is exacerbating this issue unnecessarily.
Scoring systems never work right. Ironically trying to be objective leads to being far more subjective. You need to summarize the review in a succinct manner and let the viewer decide if that's the right car for them or not. List the the pros and cons, any notably good and bad things, and a...
I don't know if the Macan works differently but on my MDX, but during reverse, the mirrors tilt down. From here, if I adjust the mirror, next time I reverse, it remembers the adjusted position - that way you can adjust it to see more of the rear wheelbase.
Ah derp on the math, thanks for correcting, but yes some data would be nice and I'm not discrediting you, we just need empirical data. Don't understand why a computer on wheels can't have this information readily available as well.
4W is not a very high drain, that would be 48wHr per day.. a typical car battery has 420 - 900 wHr.
I'm not sure your experience of the HV battery draining 1% to recharge the 12V battery is necessarily accurate.
There is a ton of misinformation, though I don't think any of it is intentional...
According to OP, "In my case, I was advised to have the car towed to my dealer, who opened the hood and was able to jump-start the battery for me. The process took almost an hour for three experienced Porsche mechanics."
I really hope you're right that keeping the car plugged into a charger will prevent the 12V draining to death.. but that still doesn't solve the issue of when/if the 12V fails due to age/defect. An ICE can simply pop the hood and just be jumpstarted and driven to a store to replace the battery...
There is no way just connecting to the car will trigger the HV to power on. You'd need to do something that requires HV power, like climate control. But at this point, there's no guarantee that just because the HV is connected, the system is going to recharge the 12V, doesn't seem like Porsche...
