My car is charging today at home for the first time since last November! I also note that this is the first time since last November that the temperature in my garage has been above 60 degrees F. It is also the first time the voltage has dropped below 242.
Allow me to add my thanks for taking the time to keep us informed. This appears to have been a thoughtful, honest and logical reaction to the problem by Porsche Germany. Wonder why no one at Porsche NA bothered to take the same steps and instead kept us in the dark for 3 months.
BRILLIANT! It was just a matter of time before a dealer experienced the same location-specific inability of the Macan to tolerate normal North American electrical supply variations that others have experienced. Keep us informed of what excuses they come up with.
My car was returned today after 6 more days at the dealer. Although they said they were in touch with someone at Porsche, the only thing they accomplished was to satisfy themselves once again that everything works normally at the dealer. Their bottom line is that the only place where charging is...
My dealer is FINALLY talking to Porsche. They forwarded the attached questionnaire from Porsche for me to fill out which I did along with a detailed description of the problem. Porsche followed up with asking for the exact 120 and 240 voltage at my house and the serial number of the Grizzl-E...
Yes, the car went in Thursday and it's still at the dealer. And the "fix" that was promised turned out to be a promise to work with Porsche NA to analyze the problem. I am not at all hopeful since they already know that charging works at the dealer.
I also received a call this week from Porsche...
It does appear that the problem is due to an overly strict allowable variation in voltage. However, I cannot charge with my voltage consistently in the 243 to 245 range, which coincidentally is at or just outside the European standard limit of 230 volts, -10% + 6%. I don't expect that Porsche...
Two weeks ago, I contacted Porsche NA (for the 4th time) and gave a different person a detailed description of our common problem and all the steps I and my dealer tried that do not solve the problem. I followed up with an email and how the problem pointed to either new and inappropriate...
Wanted to add my thanks for attempting to offer a solution. Your departure settings and direct charging seem to be working as it was designed to do (like it or not). As NICK729 pointed out, the starting time for charging when a departure time is set is dependent on how long the car thinks it...
Dial 800-767-7243, then 0 for Menu, then 3 for Customer Support, then 3 again to get to an actual person. Ask for Tony. He is the only one of 3 persons I spoke with at Porsche NA over the last month who spent a considerable amount of time with me and who I trust will actually get back to me...
Thanks for the response. It's a dumb EVSE (Grizzl-E Classic 40 Amp). From the start, all I wanted was the ability to plug it in and walk away without any WiFi complications. And yes, I contacted United Chargers. They were good to talk to but couldn't offer any insight. Same problem with Porsche...
It did not go well. I described the problem in detail to the service manager again and gave him a written summary and asked that he contact Porsche (since Porsche did not respond to me) and asked that they try another installation of the software if Porsche indicates that it is probably an...
I would like to add my observations on this problem prior to my 3rd appointment with the dealer next Thursday.
Since the November 2025 software update (Campaign WSJ0), I am unable to charge at home using either my hardwired unit (Grizzl-E Classic 40 Amp) or Porsche portable unit. Car will...
I also have a problem with Plug and Charge at home with both my permanent charger and the Porsche supplied charger. DC Plug and Charge on the road works fine. Car will only Plug and Charge at home if I change the user account to GUEST. It will also charge if I specify a departure time and wait...
Used the Porsche adapter for the first time to try out a nearby Tesla charging station. The Site had 8 Version 4 stalls advertised as "up to 325 KW". 6 stalls were available. Used the Tesla app to initiate charging. (plug and charge does not work) Car was at 35%, outside and battery temperature...
