Taycan driver wanted after back-to-back hits and run at 3 am in Los Angeles - Video

Exactly, this is about as simple as cross referencing the list of owners against cell tower records, and I have a hard time believing they even end up with more than 10 people who were in the area at that time. About the only way he could be less inconspicuous would be driving an Acid Green GTS...

Official: 2024 Macan EV Electric Prototype Specs & First Look (on New PPE EV Platform)

You're not wrong, I'm an unusual buyer. I wanted an EV with 250+ miles on a charge, good driving dynamics, styling that doesn't scream "I'm trying to be futuristic", from an existing manufacturer with plenty of service centers, and at least as much cargo space and luxury as my previous BMW X1...

Official: 2024 Macan EV Electric Prototype Specs & First Look (on New PPE EV Platform)

94-96kW usable sounds lovely right about now. Assuming they can also improve overall efficiency on top of that, 300 miles seems like a bare minimum, maybe 350 on a good day? Not enough for me to sell the Taycan, but if I were buying again I'd probably go with the Macan to have that extra range.

    Schadenfreude

Musk didn't found Tesla though, and was also removed as CEO of X.com before they became Paypal. He has been a part of influential companies, but I would not consider him a genius.

Q: "Which Legacy Automaker Is Selling Most EVs As Portion Of Overall Sales In USA?" - A: Porsche & Taycan!

That's interesting and encouraging for sure. Once the Macan EV drops, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the 30-40% range. Porsche has to be salivating at the thought of electrifying the lineup, and as long as they can get the software and service figured out, it might be a really easy...

Are we helping in the fight against climate change or just indulging our love of toys (er technology)?

You mean I can't find all the answers to life's questions on Quora? But it's peer reviewed with upvotes and downvotes, seems legit to me /s

Are we helping in the fight against climate change or just indulging our love of toys (er technology)?

I'm just gonna drop this right here: To add to that though, your personal experience of going through some hot summers and cold winters is relevant in the same way that Jeffrey Dahmer probably went out to eat at McDonald's a few times. It misses the bigger picture of combining all the facts...

Are we helping in the fight against climate change or just indulging our love of toys (er technology)?

Absolutely. There's so many people convinced that complete capitalism is the solution to all problems, and that regulations only get in the way of honest hard working people trying to build their own companies so they can hire other hard working people. The sad reality is that in many cases...

Are we helping in the fight against climate change or just indulging our love of toys (er technology)?

Like most things in life, just about everyone is in a gray area in the middle. I could certainly downsize my standard of living and have a positive impact, but I'll also say that many of the ways that I consume goods/services simply don't have strong eco-friendly options available. For...

Is it ethical to purchase a lithium battery powered EV? - Article

I just about lost it at this point "Since you’ve probably read about EV fires, here’s a site that keeps tabs just on TESLA EV fires https://www.tesla-fire.com/, now at 85 and growing almost daily. " Now I hate Tesla as much as anyone, but when you call 85 fires in 9 years (or even 5 fires in...

"Auto dealers eye a weird electric future" service-free EV is a hypothesis - article link

Either the writer or the presenter has no idea what the word hypothesis means, and makes me question the entirety of the article. Calling something a hypothesis is just declaring your initial guess before you do more rigorous study of the subject. It neither implies true or false, and calling...

Porsche 718 / 983 Boxster / Cayman EV Sports Car Announced For 2025 Launch

There's no way they end up with intakes that large on the production model, right? I mean, that's like 5x larger than any other EV I can think of.

    Macan EV

The one piece I'd point out for sure is rear seat room. Most comparisons note the Taycan CT having more legroom, while the Macan might have a bit more cargo room. If they're tiny kids, maybe it's no big deal though if you can wait the 12-24 months.
