Switch from eTron GT / Taycan

I have both now. (Taycan CT and a Macan EV). I can't speak for eTron. Taycan: drives better, more like a sports car, feels more premium overall, looks better (i think), in wagon form (CT) as usable as the Macan Macan: much better efficiency / range, easier to get in and out of, quite a bit...

Latest OutofSpec Dave review - not good

I don't get all the software hate. Maybe because I live in CarPlay for 99% of the time? Only real software thing I'd like is real OTA updates. And we need access to the Tesla supercharging network ASAP. I've yet to be in a Tesla or drive a Tesla I'd own. The ride/drive of all of them is...

First post and loving it. Range is humorous

Our 24 MY Macan 4 has been fine. I do get an occasional clunk over slow low speed bumps in the front end I'll have looked at at some point but thats it. This is my wife's car and she doesnt tolerate annoyances and shes been fine with it daily driven almost 4k miles since new. The efficiency in...

Macan EV Charger Cover Flap Not Flush

Oddly our car is fine (nov delivery) but my friend took delivery a few weeks ago and I noticed this on one of his, the lower right corner was popped out a bit and not flush with the body. He didn't notice so I didn't say anything!

Insurance costs for your Macan EV?

Expensive. More than all my 911s and my taycan. Perfect record, etc.

Front (air) suspension cracking sound over speed bumps

I've noticed some "clunking" type sound from the front end when lightly riding brakes over speed bumps. The TSB posted looks easy enough to inspect myself... it's all top side under the trim panels in the frunk area it looks like. Although it looks like the fasteners are torque to yield...

Macan 4S vs Taycan ST 4S -- my impressions & review

Sport chrono won’t give you more power. You get over boost/power when using launch control which all have. Sc on the macan gives you the clock a pcm app and sport plus chassis settings. 0 - 60 mph with Launch Control 3.1 s 1/4 mile with Launch Control 11.4 s

Macan 4S vs Taycan ST 4S -- my impressions & review

Haven’t needed lift and i live in an area with very steep hills and driveways. Normal height is fine. Not same for taycan which i use lift often. i never found auto regen useful. If you’re using innodrive it is sort of the same thing. It just auto brakes and will regen. i have the diamond...

Macan 4S vs Taycan ST 4S -- my impressions & review

I have a Macan 4 and a 2025 RWD (loaner for a few weeks, my CT4 is getting battery service done). First, "I" prefer the Taycan wagon. My wife, the Macan. The macan drives "less good" but it drives great. The Taycan feels much more sports car like and feel to it. The macan having a taller...

    Macan 4 EV range

I do know the difference but I'm just not that pedantic.

Kyle on Out of Spec Dave channel: Mom's Macan 4 reveal

Interesting. I see on my chargepoint at home about 8.6kw reported in the CP app, my taycan shows 9.2kw. I'm wired for a full 50a but charger set at 40a. mainly to keep the grid demand and rely mostly on my solar generation when charging during the day. (ie car charges mostly from solar and...

    Macan 4 EV range

Ha, relative term probably. Low/mid 40s in AM (about 6c), but during day it's about 20c/mid 60s. Along the coast in Southern California it's never too cold or too hot. But, I do see a range drop when running heat, moreso than running AC. Our Macan 4 has about 700 miles on it now of mixed...

    Macan 4 EV range

seems low. I have a macan 4, and a taycan ct4, along with a loaner 2025 taycan base/rwd. In "normal" driving (which includes heat use its been chilly here in AM) - mixed local and highway: macan 4 - 3.5-3.7mi/kw taycan ct4 - 2.7-2.8mi/kw 2025 taycan - 3.5-4mi/kw

    USA Import Duty

Let's be real here: before tariffs, come negotiations. EVERYTHING is a negotiation. Give take. And if there is a balance of trade and equity, tariffs become less of a concern. The Europeans / EU have not been nice to American companies for some time now. Time for a balance of trade. Can't have...

Anyone receive their gift from PCNA?

So I got one of these about a month ago, a month before I got my EV. I'd thought it was for attending a drive experience in the new EV a few weeks prior at the PEC in LA (Luckily I live close). Bought many Porsches over the years and the gifts vary. Did you get these as an EV purchase gift...

Macan EV Key Fob - photos

yeah the key is a next generation type, different than the Taycan, probably a better shell design to change colors. I didn't see any 3rd party options out there as yet.

Thoughts After a Month & 1500 Miles With My Macan Turbo EV, Coming From Tesla Model S

we're a little over a week and 500 miles in (300 of which I did a road trip from the dealer I bought it from...). this is a good car, my wife's main, she loves it, a big upgrade over her 2020 macan s.

I've Got My Lease Options: What's the verdict?

I dont recall exactly off top of my head, but it was buy rate PFS. I'd have to go look. I think one pay might get 50bps on MF better?

I've Got My Lease Options: What's the verdict?

The lease is with PFS. Just ask for a "one pay" Mileage overage is the same. You can also call and pre-buy mileage before lease end. All this is pretty typical lease stuff. Of course, laying out $36k there is some cost of money there etc. Everyone has to do their own math.
