Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a 2025 Macan Turbo Electric and I’m having trouble charging it at home with my Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector.
Setup and background:
It feels like the Macan isn’t completing the handshake with the Tesla Wall Connector, even though other cars have worked fine on this setup. Has anyone else run into this with a 2025 Macan (or other Macan EV) and a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector plus Lectron adapter? If so, were you able to fix it, and how?
Thanks in advance for any ideas or troubleshooting tips.
I recently picked up a 2025 Macan Turbo Electric and I’m having trouble charging it at home with my Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector.
Setup and background:
- I’m using a Lectron Tesla-to-J1772 adapter
- This same wall charger previously worked fine with a 2020 Taycan Turbo and a 2025 BMW M5, so I’m confident the charger itself is OK
- At the Porsche dealer I was able to charge my Macan with a Porsche wall charger with no issues
- When I plug in at home with the Lectron adapter, the Tesla wall connector clicks a few times
- Then the Porsche app shows: “Error: Charging not possible…”
- The car never starts charging and this happens every time
- I’m also seeing a problem with Plug & Charge
- In the Charging Settings, when I tap “Request certificate” it fails with a “No certificate available…” message
- Not sure if this is related to the home charging issue or just a separate problem
