And they are going to raise prices across the Toyota world board to cover the tariffs. They aren’t just going to raise the price of cars produced in Japan. People aren’t buying a Toyota or Lexus SUV at a 15-25%+ increase. They will do the math and spread it out to all cars, probably world wide to lesson the impact.Once they leave the port, the price will be set (because that’s when the tariff is charged), but between docking and leaving customs, yep, the price could go up. My guess is that Toyota will just wait and raise the 2026 prices, since those are due pretty soon, and might even be reducing production of the 2025’s to avoid eating tariffs on them (which would explain some of the stock shortages).
