I'm looking to move up to a 295/70/17 E, I was hoping to do it w/o any lift but realize I may need at least do the Peak collar in the front and the Peak spacer in the back which is OK if needed.

I do off roading so contact is a concern.

I also want to move into new rims but have no idea on what offset or backspacing I need.

Anyone running similar setup without rubbing off road?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After more thought I may stick with the +20mm PRO OEM rims, which I already put some scratches on.

I believe the 285 will fit without any lift on the Pro, but would I need the collar and spacer for the 295 or are they too wide on the OEM rims?

Falken Wildpeak AT4W 295/70/18 @ 34.3"x 12.2" Sect. width
Falken Wildpeak R/T01 285/70/18 @ 34" X 11.7" Sect. width

I'm seriously confused on how to figure out which tires are gonna fit on this without any mods using the OEM rims. I'm not usto that, on my dedicated offroad rig, if I have a clearance issue I brake out a cutter and modify. Can't justify that quite yet on this.

This will see moderate trails.

Any help would be great.

I want 285/70/R18 on my Pro. But I haven’t done it yet.

I’m thinking about doing the same thing but curious if it’ll fit without any rubbing or trimming. Also, does a 285/70/r18 fit underneath as a spare?

I am running 285/70R18 on my Limited - not a TRD Pro - but I can speak to some of the adjustments I've made. I think there is a bit more clearance on the TRD Pros vs the Limited's because of the suspension (Limited/Premium running the Adaptive Variable Suspension). I have the Falken Wildpeak AT4s on mine. They list at 34" on some sites, but mine are 33.5". I ran 33"s on my 5th gen with a 2" lift, so I adjusted accordingly for the 6th gen given the threads here on running 35s with little trim.

I put the Peak Performance 2-piece Trail lift kit on mine and don't feel like I got more than an 1 1/2" gained on the front (says 2.25"). I'm at 5" of space between top of tire and external fender in the front and about 6.5" of space between the top of tire and external fender. I'm running Method MR316's with +18 offset. Side of tire and rest of wheel well is about 3" of space (front and back).

Poke: I have about 2" of poke in the front, 1" on the back tires. I have the NYTOP fenders ordered to give me a little more protections.

Rub/Trim: I removed the factory mud guards and only had to push some of the fabric/underguard material forward on the front wheel well (and the if you can do this right, you can align holes not have to trim/cut make new holes). Also did the air dam delete. Now, I get a slight rub in the back side of the front on hard turns. It rubs the under trim fabric and that covers some metal, which would have less give clearly. The Limited is full-time 4WD and I haven't tested in 4 low to address additional rub.

Result: Going to finish the other pieces first (roof rack/rails/skid/full size 5th carrier option) before revisiting the suspension later in the year. My plan is to go to a 3" lift and I should be free and clear from the minor rub. I've got plans to take this off-road more, but I don't need to do that immediately.

Happy to share more pics this week if needed!

I don’t know what model you have. If you’re in a Pro model like me I’m pretty sure the Spare only supports a stock (TRD pro tire size) of a 33”. Again, though I don’t know anything about the other models…

Decided on the Falken WildPeak R/T01 285/70/18 - 34" x 11.7" x 9"

Have my initial review in the Bigger Tire Compilation thread.

That looks nice. Do you have a full size spare with the same tire?

Have it, but have to get a tire carrier to mount it. Maybe next month... :)
