I just bought a Cadillac Vistiq got 11 k in incentives while they still exist. When I get a email or call one day from Scout that it's time to see feel and touch 2 yrs from now I will cross that bridge when it happens. But I've come to realize I don't need an off-road vehicle I rarely would need that option. I do need a comfortable cruiser that me wifey Louie our English bulldog can navigate life in. With current conditions in our world and country I am glad I bought an EV. To me a 65 yr old dinosaur it just makes sense. All the best to everyone.

Too bad Vistiq didn’t retain Lyriq’s physical switchgear? That seems a disappointing, cost-cutting downgrade.

I guess as you get older buttons become Velcro and door silencers on microwave to know what button to push to heat my Jo I have had 53 vehicles in my 65 yrs of life the Vistiq being 54 when I polished 62 Cadillac Seville bumpers at my uncle jacks house while my father and my other uncle's drank peals real draft in 16 oz cans I dreamed of one day owning a Cadillac. Well I've owned Fords , Chevy, BMW , Mercedes, Range Rovers , Acura , Mitsubishi , Coupe Deville , Sedan Deville and traded a Volvo XC 90 ultimate recharge in on this An Electric Cadillac Vistiq I hope my uncles and father are looking down saying Great to see they did away with the buttons!!!! Enjoy your day and be happy for those we don't agree with. Someone loves his Rambler as much as you love your whip.

Nothing out there like what the Scout anticipates, nothing on the horizon either.
Where we can get it serviced and towing capacity is our only concern.
Until then,,,
What if Toyota comes out with a PHEV Land Cruiser?

Most likely a Yoda EV by 2029.

As to the OPs original question, I remain super stoked for the Scout and yes it remains very hard to be patient for what I expect to be a mid-2028 delivery to my reservation.

But I do need to keep it real. I had an early reservation for a R1T and was so excited and waited on the edge of my seat for about 18 months. Then the Lightening was released and got tired of waiting for Rivian to ramp up their production volume.

Again, I remain hopefully that SM will not have such a lengthy volume ramp and 2028 deliveries will be realized for so many of us that have waited for this reinvented legacy to arrive.

I don't really expect the Scout to be a refined Wrangler. Already have a Wrangler and it is plenty refined already for me. A lot of people probably want a simpler Wrangler though.

Wranglers do tend to be a couple years behind on tech, and ours is going on 6 years old - so by the time the Scout is out, it's tech will more than a decade old. There is some tech that has been becoming common during the last few years that I would not mind to catch up on. Personally I want to move forward rather than backwards.
---
Speaking of backwards - I think I have peak Wrangler. Mine has an incredible option that has been discontinued. It is kind of irreplaceable. Had a gas Wrangler, and replaced it with a nearly identical diesel one. Will never go back to that gas version.

Scout has some hurdles in front of them still the DTC is still not hashed out. As to a simple wrangler the scout and wrangler ride I think will be much different as to stiffness I think scout in that terms will be more refined. But the question I have is how many scout reservation holders will ever go off road ?? People who drive Range Rovers do they off road ? 5% of them maybe as I get older give me technology that makes me and others on the road safer. I had Cadillac Lyriq ordered took 2 yrs no communication from dealer or GM ending up buying a Volvo plug in hybrid. Got a taste of Electric. It's cleaner than diesel and cheaper. But 2028 is a reasonable time frame but scout hasn't even given us a timetable of when order sheets etc. some of us need more than pictures especially those who have been down this road. And massage seats make it better no rock climbing for this redwood. Happy 4 th to all !!!

I’m still excited and in for purchase, but I live in SC and want to buy direct from Scout. No dealer middleman to haggle with. Unfortunately, the dealer lobby has bought our state politicians and it is still illegal for Scout to sell direct to consumer here.
If I have to use a slimy dealer with BS mark ups, I’m 100% out.
