Totally agree.

Here in Canada, a base SR5 is over 57k and top of the line hybrid Trailhunter goes over 87k$. That's with no other options

Not cheap. And you have to add your provincial taxes over this and interest rates at 6.49%.

That's a lot of money.
Interestingly for the inventory that has showed up in the past few weeks, a few I have seen are around the 56.8k mark because some charge a lower doc fee of about $500. I will have to check again but I think Toyota MSRP accounts for a $995 doc fee hence the usual 57.2k number.

When it comes time I will see if I can get mine to match those dealers on doc fee for the lower number, but I figure that is all the discount I can hope for, given the Canada situation like you said. Hopefully by then I can shop around.

The Toyota interest rates are absolutely offensive

Which is 52k US, the same that they sell for in the states (discounted), I believe list is 58k US.
I haven't looked at the LC configurator for US orders but I compared the 4Runner options USA vs Canada and up North, we have way less possibilities when building a 4Runner.

Stupid example, 7 seats only and no heated steering wheel for a SR5 but 5 seats only and heated steering wheel for the TRD Sport which ask for +4802$ more.

I'd be fine with a SR5 but don't need 7 seats and a heated steering wheel is quite cool in winter.

And our configurator doesn't let us add simple options such as the heated steering wheel or remove the extra seats :(

Indeed about the interest rates!

Just for fun, I built a SR5 with no options and in the summary, you can see a "899$" for dealer's fees. Then you have the 1930$ shipping and destination charges.

I am no hurry to pull the trigger and looking carefully at the market. I can wait until 2026. Anyway, to get one here you have to put your name on a list. And knowing how the economy is going, I don't think they will be selling these much at that premium price. I have only seen one 4Runner and one LC on the road.

Don't forget about the lack of SR5 colour options! For the price they're asking for Sport, it should really have come with the 14" screen.

I've seen a lot of LCs and GXs around, but only saw my first 6th gen on the road last Tuesday. Followed behind a heritage blue Sport in traffic. Looked excellent and really has that squat, well planted look just like the GX and LC, that doesn't come across in photos.

Yep! 3 colors only for the SR5: white, grey, black!

Aat least, the Sport adds that nice blue.

Call me weird, I'd like a basic model: no screen, 6 on the floor with a clutch and even manual windows. I don't need gimmicks and gizmos. When I sat in a new 6th Gen 4Runner at a local auto show, it did look good but the interior is mostly hard plastics and fake knobs when the options are not installed. Even the smaller screen looks weird with the large edges around it. At over 60ks you would be expecting a bit more. But it's a freakin' Toyota. It's built to last and will hold its value longer.

I would doubt you have seen SR 5 with over 3k off, unless they added a bunch of dealer add ons
They both have the Arb roof rack. That is only a 1700 add on.

Try and go all the way through process and see what other adds suddenly are added so you get that price, It would have to be cash deal to find out though

I purchased my first ever 4R from Edmark last month. This is a screen shot of how they priced it online looking like $3k discounts & here was the MSRP sticker pricing/“add ons” or lack there of.

If they are showing 4k off online I'm sure its just bait and switch. That being said there are lots of decent dealers out there that are offering lower than tsrp. Maybe not 4k but still something
