Is anyone using a rear hitch mount tray style bike rack with a 2025 4R and not getting warnings from the trailer or rear breaking systems? My rack is a 1UP Super Duty.

If you have to disable 1 or 2 safety features every time you start the engine, that is just unacceptable and 'might' be a stopping point for me on the purchase.

If you can disable once and it's not 6 layers down in a menu, I can put up with that.

Like someone else stated in another forum, it would be nice to have button for "bike rack" mode.

For those of you with a hitch mounted bike rack on your 6th gen, howā€™s the driving experience?

I know the parking support brake feature (PKSB) needs to be disabled. Any other major annoyances with all the sensors when a rack and bikes are mounted?

I have an 6gOff road premium coming in next week. Planning to keep a 1up rack on it 24/7, but concerned about all the damn sensors.

Photos are my 5th gen thatā€™s had a 1up rack mounted for well over 5 years straight.

I have not put my rack on yet, still cool in the 50's. But maybe I should just put it on and ride around to see.
I'll get back.....

Picked up the Kuat NV 2.0. Super solid. Test drove with the bikes on there over a handful of speed bumpsā€”no shaking or getting loose.

PRO TIP: If you have a REI Membership, you get 20% off on one full-priced item until 03/24. šŸ˜‰

I have the same Kuat NV2.0 rack with the add on absolutely love it. However my 4Runner has not arrived to the dealer yet (getting closer, it is in the States as of Friday). We can take our road bikes and mtn bikes at the same time. Giving us more options for ride time.

Great info. I also have an SR5 coming to me any day now. I will have two bikes on my 1UP rack, hopefully that will not upset it too miuch

No issues with my 1Up rack! This is the last bike rack youā€™ll ever need, all aluminum construction and no plastic. Looks great on the new SR5, though I wish I spent the extra $50 to get a black 1UP at the time. The back up camera is definitely a little obstructed compared to my previous vehicle that had an aftermarket hitch.

That is a relief to know. I got the rack a few months ago and yes, its built very well. I got the Super Duty and added wheel chocks for extra stability. I got the ramps too, nice for getting heavier ebikes on.

I have a 2025 ORP and Iā€™m very happy with the compatibility with my 1up rack.

Sorry I donā€™t remember the names of the systems I disabled: Iā€™m still getting used to all of these

1. Parking sensor? With this off, I get far fewer alerts about nearby objects when backing up. I do still get alerts sometimes though, which is inseresting.

2. the safety system that will brake for you if youā€™re backing up close to something. I actually didnā€™t try it with this on. I already had it turned off.

I just wish I didnā€™t have a power liftgate, thoughMy liftgate on my previous 4Runner was fine. I worry about accidentally opening it into a bike. Fortunately, itā€™s easy to keep the 1up out JF the way without a bike on.

The only other thing I wish was different is the way the seats fold down. But I think Iā€™ll get used to it.

Let me know if anyone has tips for how to best set these when using a bike rack.

Thanks for sharing your experience with a 1up on your ORP. That'll be my set up later this week when I take delivery on a ORP.

With bikes on your rack, have you had any issues with the vehicle thinking you're in a tow mode?

After disabling the parking sensors and PKSB, are the 360 cameras affected? Do you still get all the views on the display or do some of them get disabled?

I was also concerned about the power liftgate and started another thread about that. Someone called me a sissy, but clearly they don't drive around daily with expensive bikes.

I'm planning to delete the power struts down the line. Initially, I might open my key fobs and alter the button to disable the power lift from the key. The power lift switch is also directly below the fuel door release. I'm sure the chance is extremely low for an accidental press, but it could be an expensive mistake. I'm also considering popping off the harness from that switch, but it'll probably require a bit more than that to keep things working.

IMO the silver contrasts underground well. I own a few 1up racks and have always been disappointed with their black ano. It quickly fades into a blackish purple. One of my silver racks will be on a black 6g, so seeing your setup is helpful. I dig it.
