Here's a look at my setup. This is the 1Up Super Duty rack with two trays. I encountered the same issue with the security lock being too short for the double-walled design of the 4Runner hitch receiver. 1Up is sending me one of the bike locks as others have described.

And like others, I'm getting the message, "Trailer detected. Please Confirm" with the rack installed, and then the Pre-Collision system is randomly braking when I back up. Not great...

Toyota definitely needs to add a "Bike Rack" mode that temporarily disables these features.

Looks great. This makes me miss my silver 5th gen. It was so easy to keep clean! I went black on the 6th gen to save $4k, but it scratches looking at it.

Disable PKSB to prevent the back up braking. That setting will save until you choose to turn it back on.

As for auto trailer detection being super glitchy, you can’t turn it off. Well, you can, but it will re-enable on the next ignition cycle.

I am not sure that the SR5 has the safety features that cause the alerts so you should be good. Others may confirm my thoughts as I have not got my rack fitted yet.

Give it time. You might have to do a little more driving with your bikes mounted for the auto detect to function.

I believe someone else already confirmed they are getting the auto trailer detect with SR5

I am getting the trailer detection notice on my SR5. The good news is once I take the rack off it clears after a short drive. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any negative effect as far as backing up or brakes being applied by the computer. Just the annoying message,

Have been driving with the bike rack for some days and I am still not getting the notice. Here is a pic of it:

I installed the Thule Epos 3 bike rack with light kit. Works perfectly for e-bike, mtb and kids bikes.

I have ORP with tow package, I did not get a prompt “do you have trailer?”. I am using the 4-pin connector for light kit — it does not automatically trigger trailer detection.

Parking sensors do beep on R, but they are way less annoying than what it is like on my Land Rover. I do appreciate the dedicated button on Land Rover to turn off warning sounds (per reverse gear engagement). I read in the manual you can mute it on the 4Runner. Still haven’t quite figured that out.

The automated braking was so annoying and thanks to this thread I turned PKSB off. Fine now.

Super Duty, dual tray, wheel chocks, locks, etc. i have two ebikes so needed strength in the rack.
Did you get your 1 up racks to work with the receiver on the 6th gen 4 runner? I purchased the rak attach and 2 tray HD setup and the mounting bolts/security bolts are not long enough on both to run through the receiver. Thanks!

How did you get the supplied 1 up hitch pin to work? Mine doesn't seem to be long enough on both my rack and the custom bolt they gave me for my rak attach that I also bought

As stated. I had to purchase a longer hitch pin. I spoke to support and they seem to know tge issue. They really should ask when you purchase.

My other minor issue, albeit annoying is the rack tilts to tge left. Its lower by about 3/4” - 1” when the hitch pin anti-wobble bolt is tightened. Apparently its a common issue but 1up seem to act like it was the first they have heard of. Othe hitch accessories are fine. Also, rack does the same on another vehicle.

Its not a functional issue but at that price point, I would have expected better.

Did anyone notice the second hole down tge hitch that is not used? Apparently its they are releasing a new security lock later this year as the know the current security is poor.

I run one of these on both my vehicles with 1up racks. If you keep the racks mounted 24/7 and drive a lot of gravel roads, the 1up hitch locking mechanism tends to loosen a bit on its own. The hitch u-bolt tightener prevents that from ever happening. It will also help level things out a bit for you.
