Is it just a slip on over the existing exhaust?

I can’t believe I’m still going back with the GM at my dealership trying to get my exhaust tip for my pro. I even sent him screenshots from this thread and the part number. He came back with, the part number is for the 5th gen 4Runner not the 6th gen. 🤦🏻‍♂️
It’s an exhaust tip, it can work for any exhaust with the same size pipe.

What part number were they giving you? The one my dealer gave me has the part #: PT932-89180-02.

PT932-89180-02 is a Gen 5 P/N. Perhaps it works for both 😀
Hmmm. Thanks Royal. I was thinking that, as it didn't really seem to fit with all of the parts included. I'll let the dealer know.

I have an Off Road Premium trim and I can confirm that this part (PT932-89180-02) doesn't fit. The exhaust on my specific trim runs a little bigger. I was assuming it would've been the same size as the TRD Pro's. Now I am hoping if I can return it back to the Toyota dealer I bought it from. :cautious:

I think it sticks out way too far as well. I would have to get an exhaust shop to cut that factory pipe off a few inches and then attach it.

It does indeed fit. I thought the same thing at first. The area of the tip where the clamp is secured has 4 “cut notches” which appear to be bent slightly smaller when you unbox. When I first went to test fit I would have bet you $10k cash it was not able to fit. I even wrapped the tip and was pounding with a rubber mallet. Once I carefully spread the notched area a little so it was more inline with the rest of the tip it slid right on. I think the angled cut of the exhaust also initially made this a little tricky. But it definitely fits and you see the photos.

If you are a seriously off roader, sure, it adds just a little of an obstruction, but it really is not much further out than the spare. Some of the photos look worse than they are. Without modifying that is as far you could slide that on as there is weld for the hanger that the tip eventually hits.

You did this on an Off Road Premium? My exhaust inlet is at 4 inches and the black exhaust tip insert inlet is at 2.8 inches.

Mine is a Pro. There is a spacer that came with the tip that I did not need to use.

I finally got my exhaust tip from the dealership after a bit of back and forth.

Is this the spacer you were referring to?

Also, where exactly did you mount the tip on the exhaust? No matter where I position and tighten mine, it still feels loose.

Update: NVM, was able to tighten it down and got it closed to the hanger.

Dealer received OEM TRD Pro factory black exhaust tip last week. I heard people were wanting to see, if you want a different pic let me know

So all you did was contact the dealership and let them know they need to order the muffler tip and they installed it for free I am assuming? Nice ride btw!
