In looking at all the specs I'm wondering if the Platinum can be lifted. It has different shocks than the TRD Pro and Trailhunter. Any insights?

Platinum won't be able to use lift kits for the TRD Pro and Trailhunter.

But Platinum should have the same shocks as the Limited trim (because Platinum is based on the Limited trim), so it will be able to use any lift kit for the Limited.

Thank you very much! This is most helpful as I am just learning some of the finer details.

The Platinum and the Limited have the Active Variable Suspension, which needs to be considered when looking into suspension lift options. More information on this thread. For my Limited, I used the Peak Performance 2-piece Trail kit (here) which my local shop recommended given the suspension setup. I believe the Ready Lift kit would also allow for lift without impacting the AVS. I bumped mine to a 33.5" tire (285/70R18) and don't feel a significant change over the 255/65R20 stock offering.

I may eventually swap to something more than the Peak kit in time. I have some off-road trips planned for later in the year that will give me a better sense of how these perform off-surface roads.

First time hearing a Limited with lift here. I just got my Westcott preload collar for alimited but debating whether to go 275/70r18 or 285/70r18. My concern was the spare tire not fitting with going more than 33's. 285/70r18 (which is technically close to being 34's) vs 275/70r18 (33's) and having a spare of 255/80r17 (33's). How did you end up having for spare? From what I have researched that with a FTAWD system. The primary tires has to be almost exact the same diameter as the spare.

I plan to start a separate thread with my build once the remainder of pieces arrive in the next month (Prinsu Pro Roof Rack, RCI sliders and front skid, FRP Fender Flares from NYTOP). Slow-rolling this build despite my impatience.

My local shop (Total Auto Pros in Phoenix - they install most lifts for the local Toyota dealerships as well) did the Peak Performance lift on mine. I installed Method MR316 (18x9, +18 offset) on Falken Wildpeak AT4s 285/70R18. The specs online said 34" but they sit at 33.5". Poke is about 2" in the front and an inch in the rear (which is why I opted for the NYTOP fender flares). Outside of removing the mud guards and a small tuck forward on the front, I have not experienced any rub.

Regarding the spare - I am planning a full size 5th (ran one similarly on my 5th gen, but that also had the C4 Fab rear tire swing bumper). For this build, I will probably run an Ultraswing or Wilco Offroad Hitchgate. Whatever I add will require a setting adjustment on the tow settings/parking brake sensor (since I forgot to adjust and the car freaked out when I tried backing up with a bike rack on the back...). Anyway, for now, it's a stock spare, but I'm not taking it anywhere crazy in the next month or so.
