Not sure what your deal is, but that was uncalled for. Testosterone has zero to do with being a responsible driver and ensuring your vehicle isnt a hazard. And your vehicle being new doesnt mean you get to just ignore basic maintenance because you got lucky before.
Ok Dad. Shall I go clean my room now too?

Not sure why you feel the need to imply that people that don't look at the engine weekly are being a irresponsible drivers.

I gave my opinion on why Toyota did not make beefed up hood struts stock and you are taking it to a whole another place.

For those who did not see the other thread about hood struts, that is what this conversation is referencing.

Ok...silly question but may be valid here specially due to all the plastic our 6th gen have inside. What is the best cleaner for the interior?
I’ve had good experience with 303 but you can check it out

Something to consider--pistons will probably eventually fail and need to be replaced--hold up bars will not likely fail. IMO, the factory bar is a better, safer choice (and free!). Pistons are nice in that they are more out of the way, but I guess I never found that to be a problem.

I had an old Tahoe that used springs--best of both worlds. Worked great, not likely to ever break. No idea why they do not all do that (probably more expensive than the hold-up bar although probably less than pistons).

I have (although have not installed yet) ditch lights. If you ever want to off-road at night they are useful to illuminate beside/in front of you, especially when about to turn. I purchased some inexpensive ones from Amazon (Nilight brand) that seem to get good reviews--much less expensive than many other brands (admittedly they may be better, but we will see). I thought of making brackets, but they are a bit complex and ended up getting a more reasonable priced version:

They seem to be very good quality.
