I'm a bit dissapointed by a couple of things with my new 25 Limited hyrbid -
1) The tight fit and lack of leg room in the rear seat.
2) It's somewhat difficult getting and out from both the front and rear seat.
3) The factory installed running board extend a bit too far. Just sliding out, your the baord rubs the back of your calf.
4) No overhead grab bars in the rear, (I mentioned this once before).
5) my neighbor mentioned the passager seat is a bit clostraphobic - he had to move the seat forward so his wife had a place to put her legs.

I dunno... I guess this is what happen when you buy a NEW vehicle that you have never seen or test drove it. It's my own fault.

How tall are all you people? I'm 5'11" and I can sit behind myself pretty easily.

Agreed about the power running boards...They are exactly the wrong swing for my height...I can step over them, but it's really awkward due to how far they swing out. Stepping on them puts me too high up to easily get in the seat. On a Limited, I'd take them off. Or at least just the driver's side, and leave the passenger side one on for the wife.

My boards are fixed ... not much I can do there.

Ever been in a small/midsized sedan? Just came from that to this and it feels like I'm in a boat. What vehicle did you have before this? Through the decades cars are getting bigger and bigger but our desire outpaces the growth so it feels like the world is shrinking

I've owned 5 other 4-Runners over the years. I traded a 2022 for the new 25. The 22 had "more space" inside and was a little lower too.

Interesting, I've heard this about the 5th vs 6th gen. By the way, is your frame also missing thread inserts on the limited? I dont like my running boards either and will prob swap them out.

My 2025 4Runner was the most expensive vehicle I've ever purchased and I too did so sight unseen, no test drive, nothing, locked into an allocation and took delivery but I got lucky as I pretty much love everything about my Sport Premium.

Why did you buy without test driving, seeing the vehicle, climbing in and out, etc. first?

I am 6'3". This is my 7th 4R since 2008. Only issue was my knee hitting the steering column when braking. The adjustment button kind of cured that, the steering wheel is not where I would like it to be, and I will live with it. IMO, this '25 TRD OR handles better then all the others.
No complaints, buyers remorse can set in with anything we purchase.

I wish maybe I did. None of the 4 dealerships in my area had any available to see or test drive. All were pre-sold and they were not allowing them to be driven. I’m sure they would have let me sit in one. Maybe I need to give it time to get use to it. I’m not good dealing with change. Same reason I had 5 previous 4-Runners!

I did have to disable to the feature to move the seat back when I get out. That is not good for the person sitting behind me. My mother in law was back there and i went to get out and it made it impossible for her exit the rear seat. I have to admit, It’s got a heck of a lot more get up and GO! It does handle well - braking is great too. I do like all the “driver assist“ and Adaptave Cruise control..it’s MUCH better then then the past generations.. Oh yea, the power tailgate is a game changer too. Wife loves and it does come in handy.

You must had been one of those who wants everything 1st doesn't matter if you test drive it or not as long as it's a 4Runner. I knew the rear was tight by a bunch of 4runner reviews which doesn't bother me since I hardly have anyone ride with me. I don't have my 4runner yet. It was ordered back in March. I should get it by mid July. I sold my '13 4Runner so this is an upgrade for me. If ever 4runner comes out with V6 I'll probably trade this inline 4 turbo for it. I looked at the new Honda Passport and it's sweet. Only difference it's not made from Japan. I trusted Japan made vehicle than any other brand. Never own a domestic vehicle. Mostly Toyotas and Hondas. We'll see what the next best thing for 4runner in the next 3-5 years.Good luck! Go Aaron Rodgers!!!
