My 2024 Macan arrived two weeks ago and I've put about 400 miles on it (got it with a little over 10k on it). I'm a first time Porsche owner and first time EV owner, so thought I'd share a few observations for considering taking the leap.

The biggest learning curve has been finding and experimenting with all the settings and seeing what works for me. I haven't even gotten into setting up my wife's profile in the car yet and I suspect that will be a whole new set of learnings. This site has been great (I have lurked a lot) and ChatGPT has also been wonderful for figuring things out. I just feel like I still have a lot to figure out despite everything I've learned thus far.

The next biggest curve is all the things that come with an EV. I live in Minnesota, so we've had one day around 70F (21C) and the rest of the time has been under 50F (10C), so I don't know how range will change when the weather finally gets nice. According to the MyPorsche, I've mostly been in the 3.0 to 3.2 miles per kWh. I expect that will get better as I actually learn how to drive the car in a more efficient manner. I don't feel much range anxiety (my wife has it all I guess :) ) and I am more comfortable than I thought I'd be leaving the car with 25% SoC and charging it a night later.

After 2 weeks I absolutely love the car and it drives and rides like a dream, even with the 22" tires. Since it was from an out of town dealer I didn't get to drive it beforehand and the only comparison I had was a 2026 Turbo that I could drive locally. That was a leap of faith but thus far I don't regret it at all. I am looking forward to getting it out for an extended trip or two later this year.

There are only a couple things I haven't liked thus far
1. I had to turn off the Steering Assist part of the adaptive cruise system because it will jerk the wheel pretty hard when I get to places where 1 lane splits into two (for example freeway lane splits) or there's a turn lane right around a bend.
2. The voice control through the car doesn't always recognize what I'm telling it. This is really more of an annoyance since it's easy to just say again with voice.
