I don't know... Didn't think of that.. I will ask when I pick it up. If the noise comes back, I plan on going back for a fix although it's a pain in the butt. Meanwhile I am cruising in a Tundra TRD off-road loaner. It's pretty nice!

Do you know if it'll be an improved/updated set of rotor & pads? If they just replace with the same parts then it'll just come back soon or later.
Wish you luck. I totally understand. It's frustrated to have to go thru this with a new truck, no matter how they put it. Please keep us updated. There was a TSB for the Lexus GX 550 with the same problem but not sure if that was an updated part.I just got my truck back today. After like 3 days of leaving it at the service shop. I haven't noticed the noise yet because I just got it (and the noise happens mostly in the morning) and hopefully it stays that way.
The dealer said that they used the same exact parts but just replaced them with new. They can't do anything else about it if the noise returns, except for waiting for Toyota to issue a technical bulletin with improved parts. That's what I heard about my repair.
Not very happy about new truck (>300mi) having to go through this so soon.![]()
What did they say?Got 210 miles on mine and when I reverse for the first time after it’s been sitting, doesn’t matter what time of day the squeal is so loud the entire neighborhood can probably hear it. It’s not normal. Taking it in for service Monday to be looked at. Bit embarrassing

They did nothing. Said it’s a known problem with other models and won’t do anything till Toyota releases a tsb. They did open a Toyota case for me.What did they say?

Dealerships here said tundra owners are waiting months for repair work because of parts. Toyota should have put a warning out to consumers this could be an issue and let us decide to buy it or not. I feel tricked and I am out a nice chunk of cash. If I could get my 5th gen back I’d go crawling to it. At least I could sneak out at 6am and get Dunkin’ Donuts without the fam hearing me. Now the entire neighborhood can hear me and will rat me out.My brother in law is a Toyota parts man. He told me the fix for the Tundra is out now. Probably only a short time before they come out with this fix. New model problem. I was anticipating it
The chin spoiler that everyone keeps talking about that has been coming offWhat do you mean about the front plastic piece?
