At 2300 miles and same thing trd off road
so it doesn't seem like this is something that'll break-in and smooth out over time...

I doubt it honestly. It appears to do it on fully cold, fresh start up and does it only once and then smooths out. Havent noticed it if warm vehicle up for 2-3min before hand

could it indicate low transmission fluid?

Mine has been doing this since i purchased it. I now have 1500 miles on the clock. Only when the car is cold backing out of the drive way. Then going into drive and second. After 5 mins there's no harsh shifting.

Was just mentioning the hard shifts earlier. Maybe have to ask Toyota about it cause it doesn’t feel normal

Same issue here, has anyone taken it to the dealer to see what they look into or say?

Hope that it's not some design fault. I'm still waiting for mine. Looks like more and more problems are popping up: brake squeak, steering vibration, now transmission hard shift.

I only have the hard shift for the first three mins of cold start up. None of the other issues

Still hard shift in the beginning and sometimes slips (revs high) between shift from 1-2,2-3. Once it warms up it’s all gone

Have the TRD Pro and I have noticed the same thing. I'm a little over 200 miles now. It's just at start up and then will go away. Curious if will go away after more mileage.

I'm almost at 2k miles still doing it. Only at start up though. I will mention this at my first 5k service

Surprised someone else felt the steering vibration and hard shifts. Glad it's not just me, but I hope we get some more info on this soon.
