I have used it on my Macan ev 4 times, 2 of which it parked great the other 2 times was an accident waiting to happen. I am also interested in the experiences that other owners have had.
Iāve had it work several times. The pattern Iāve noticed is that it doesnāt like dark parking lots. For example, our CostCo has a very dark garage and I can never get it to acknowledge any space, ever. However, our Electrify America station has 20 back-in spaces. Itās very well lit. The parking assistant finds spaces every time and backs in fast and accurately.
Parallel parking has been more problematic. It seems to like driveways as opposed to real spots. When it finds a spot, it parks better than I can. Fast and accurate. I just donāt know how to get it to detect very obvious spots. If anyone has hints, Iām all ears.
The most unusual effort was in a parking garage with very tight spaces. It didnāt recognize anything so I started to back in on my own. Then, 1/3 of the way through the maneuver, the car asked if it could takeover as it must have thought my parking skills were questionable. I let it and it did a great job. Iāve never been able to replicate this. Sigh.
Still love my car, I just want to understand what it likes.
