Took my 4Runner to get tint installed all around and when I went to pick it up the guy said there were some issues with the fob not responding to lock/unlock. App wasn’t working right either when I pulled it up when I got there and is still not working right. Thought maybe something got wet during their install maybe a day will fix it. The shop guy has a friend who is an advisor at a local Toyota dealership so I made an appointment for Monday to drop it off but hoping someone might be able to help before then and maybe it’s an easy fix? It’s also not the only issue I’m having now. Seems like it doesn’t get power once it’s turned off...No lights inside work, hatch doesn’t work, keyless entry on the door doesn’t work, hazards wont work among other things. Drives fine but even when its on some things like hatch won’t open from any of the buttons and I’ve noticed it takes the compass I have set on one of my gauges off when I restart. Usually when you turn it off it will show the trip info on the gauges but doesn’t even do that right now. Kinda frustrated so if anyone can help please help! I did disconnect the battery for 15 minutes hoping it would reset but that didn’t work.

WOW - I’m curious now too. I just had tint done on mine with no issues at all thank goodness. Seems to have “electrical” issue after I remote start - after I get in and press the start button, some times the display screen is “black”. No radio, no CarPlay… I have to shut it down, open the door and restart - seems to come back. Good luck at the dealer - one of the BIGGEST problem with a new designed vehicle, dealerships have “no-history” of issues. Just like the AirDam coming loose or falling off. Both my dealerships have never heard of it happening. I must be special! Have a good weekend!

All of them. The installer has great reviews and has done plenty of teslas with all that electrical stuff. Seen lots of other owners here have their windshields done without issues so I dunno where they fucked up. I don't even know which area to look for an issue lol. I did test the fuses under the hood that I could and they seem to be good

Bake it in the Texas sun this weekend and see if the water and moisture evaporate and clears up the issues.

If you have a moonroof, open it and bake that sucker.

Its baking right now lol.

I also noticed my key isn't linked for some reason. When I press to link it tells me no key is detected even though its in my hand. Cant figure out how to get it to read the key and link it

well the "B" antenna is located near the bottom of the center console, its not behind the multimedia screen (since people like to leave the fob in the cup holders by the driver and in the rear cupholders attached to the rear center console sometimes)

sorry to hear that, but for the life of me i cant see how installing tint would when get close to door antenna. that is the only thing i could think would cause an issue unless he accidently cut a door sensor wire.

but then again why would he be that far down the windows to even get close to a door sensor wire.

its a stretch to maybe cut a wire to short the whole door sensor network.

can you hold the fob and touch the start button with the fob to start the vehicle ???

thats is the emergency procedure to start a vehicle if a fob is dead
