Hood Flutter / Shaking Issues?

I am curious to see if the 2025 4runner will have the same hood issues (shaking/vibrations) that the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro is having, or will they correct this with the delay????

My 6 gen off-road premium has hood flutter at highway speed just in front of the windshield. Non hybrid.

Definitely on my TRD Pro. Was wondering if polyurethane pucks may help. Have been looking for something that hood can rest on in rear to brace it.

Ya my orp flutters a little in the middle, no hood scoop. Wouldnt call it an issue though, its a lightweight aluminum hood. Thats normal

dont worry even my 2014 4R limited has hood flutter. its a consequence of making the hood lighter and it happens on the smaller BoF than the tundra/sequoia.

i think the 4th gen was the last model that had a heavy hood. my 2004 never had it.

My TRD Sport with the hood scoop definitely has a flutter from about the rear 1/3 of the scoop to the rear edge of the hood for the center section of the hood.

My vehicle OCD noticed that right away, but it isn’t so crazy that it is making me nutty.

I hope they come with a TSB for it like they did for the GX550 already.

It will need owners to report the issue to the dealer and have them push it up in Toyota. I believe its all trims.

The slick top hoods have a bit of flutter at 80mph, noticed it the first day but its so minor I'm used to it now

I have a slight flutter just in front of the windshield on my Pro. It appears to be mostly on the drivers side but then again that’s where I sit. Nothing crazy. Just appears to be due to a lightweight hood. If something comes out to fix it I’d be interested but not super concerned right now.

I noted seeing this hood flutter in another thread. The angle of the sun has to be right for it to be easily visible. It's just because of the wafer-thin body panels. They're like the acid-dipped drag race cars of the 60s/70s where they wanted to trim as much weight as possible. I don't see them issuing a TSB to replace every hood, unless the flutter results in permanent damage. The key take-away should be, be VERY careful what you set on or lean against any of these thin body panels. That includes opening doors in your garage or in parking lots.

Mine does too, I also attribute it to thinner, lightweight materials. Doesn’t make a sound or anything but visually, you can see it vibrate/flutter.
