Guys and Gals,
New member here waiting on order of Ice Cap 4Runner ORP. Sales guy says ORP arrived at port on 5/12 and offloaded but put on QCHold 5/15. Many of you have had this delay too…curious on how long of a delay you experienced in delivery past your original ETA. I’ve heard most 4R6G are averaging 42 days from being released from QC Hold before being shipped. Then there’s the shipping to dealer and then customer care prep…I’m betting I won’t see my order on our dealership’s lot before 7/15…😖. Let me know how long your delivery took.

please and thanks!

Same boat, orp arrived Long Beach on 04/28, placed on a qc hold on 05/15 and updated to a 42 day hold from 05/15. Suspecting not until early/mid July.

As far as quality hold goes, what are they looking into?
QC534-Air dam service/repair. So far the only confirmed qc hold is for the air dam issues. Supposedly there is short supply for the air compressor for the trailhunters and jbl speakers for premium models.

There's a QC Hold thread I'm participating in. From what I understand at some point in May (date varies) All 4Runners were put on QC Hold. Mine got at the port right on that date, I was supposed to pick it up on 5/21. It's still on hold.

From the multiple information and people who posted, we don't know what the QC was for, for sure. And still don't.

If it's the front air dam, why are the TRD PROs and Trailhunters on hold as well? They don't have air dams... etc...

But the long story short, it appears last week the hold was removed and shipment to dealers have started. But wait, there's more. I'm waiting on Trailhunter, and my understanding is they ran out of air compressors, and are waiting from a shipment from Japan. (Once again very speculative, but makes sense) My ETA is now Mid - End of July. But if you do not have a vehicle with an air compressor, you should be seeing it soon. The flood gates have been opened, now they just have to play catch up with the deliveries to dealer.

I hope this helps.

Very through and pretty spot on. However dealerships have gotten confirmation that the qc hold was officially updated by Toyota to QC534-Air dam service/repair. The majority of 4Runners have air dams but not all which is why the qc affected the majority. Unofficially but pretty consistently dealerships have been advised that the air compressors for the trailhunters are in short supply, and the jbl portable speakers for the premium models are in short supply so those have also led to delays due to waiting on stock. All of these things have led to delays in processing and delivery.

Mine has been in Long Beach since 04/28…same boat as the rest.

It would be nice, if they could deliver them, and just let us go back to get the speaker (within a reasonable amount of time) and/or compressor installed. But I understand... Patience is something I need t work on anyway ;)

Same. But I think part of the problem is the lack of communication and transparency from Toyota. Whenever anyone has asked or reached out to their customer service they reply with its “proprietary information” and can’t release anything. Just tell people you’re waiting on back ordered parts to be delivered and installed. It ain’t rocket science Toyota lol

Yeah, it lowers down the paranoia... At first when ALL the of 4Runners were on hold, With no explanation, the first reaction, is "Oh shit! What am I getting?! What will break?" Even worst for those who already got theirs... If you're missing a part, or just need to have a few rivets to the airdam, just say it. Otherwise, the secrecy makes it 10 times worst than what it is with conspiracies, and guessing... for that much money, not sure people are fond of "guessing:...

I completely agree with you on that one, communication really should be improved.

toyota tried that with the key fobs on the 22/23 tundra's.

people bitched up a storm when they only got 1 fob with a new vehicle and had to wait months for a fob to come in. some didnt come in for 6-9 months

i personally didnt have an issue waiting for a 2 nd fob

the confusion of new owners and only getting the emergency key and a sticker stating the fob will come later and some people not even getting that much info cause a lot headache for toyota.

luckily for me i read the sticker and was told about the lack of 2nd fob and to not lose the emergency key until it came in.

i think i waited 8 months for a 2nd fob. there was even a time table posted on the tundra forum on when you would get a fob.

Folks,

I appreciate all the responses regarding the ETA of your new vehicle, especially during/after the QC Hold.

Our 4Runner ORP hybrid was offloaded on 5/12 and put on QC Hold on 5/15. I stopped by the dealership yesterday as last week the Salesman indicated it was "moving" via train to get a new ETA. They now show the vehicle arriving between 6/26 and 7/3. So roughly a 30 day hold before loading on the train and heading to dealership.

Pretty excited once again!!! Will upload some pics of the Ice Cap ORP iForce Max when its ours!!
