Would you tow a 2025 Forest River RV No Boundaries NB20.7 with the 4 Runner Traihunter or is it too heavy for comfort/peace of mind?

How much does it weigh? What kind of hitch? Where are you towing it? How often?

Google machine says your camper is 5600lbs, I assume that's not including any supplies you'll be bringing. Hitch weight is almost 800lbs, you're dancing with the limit Toyota set for the 4runner.

Just picked up my ORP Hybrid. We will tow our 2022 NOBO 19.5, but it’s only 3800 lbs dry weight with 365 lb dry tongue weight. Check the specs of the trailer, and be sure to stay under 6K pounds fully loaded. Equally as important, also check the tongue weight vs payload. That NOBO may be quite heavy. NOBO’s got heavier across the board for all models at some point after 2022 with the recent redesign. Good luck!

The trailer dry weight is the weight stock. It’s max gross weight is that plus whatever you add and the manufacturer is telling you not to exceed that.
The tongue weight is the amount if weight the hitch is going to put on your tow vehicle and will reduce the cargo capacity of the tow vehicle.
4runner can pull 5800lbs. Thats the limit. 580 lb tongue weight capcity. Its gross weight is around 5500lbs. Total capcity around 6600 pounds. Which means roughly 1100lbs load capcity. You then have to minus the trailer tongue weight from that (800lbs in your case) and you’re left with only 300lbs of cargo capacity. That will be taken up by you nd passenger.

that trailer is way to big for the 4runner. Could you tow it? Sure. Is it safe. Maybe. If something happens and all this data comes out, you’re f’ed-possibly criminally negligent.

Probably no more than 3500 pounds to be safe, Also most people who buy campers are not happy with either the camper or tow vehicle, and trade them in to move up or downsize.

Thanx for the insight/replies! I am a newbie at pulling an RV and have been confused as to the towing capacities, hitch weight, etc.

Have been looking at tow behinds and have to do some more homework!

You’ll probably want to stick to something around 5000lbs max weight. Which means the dry weight of the trailer is 3500-4500 lbs.

and then you have to consider the tongue weight of the trailer and how it effects your 1100ish lbs cargo capacity of the 4runner itself, especially if you add mods like, rock sliders, winch bumper, roof rack, etc. All that(including you and passengers)reduces the cargo capacity.

in my case, my (ordered-not picked up yet) overland trailer, Arkto Camper G12, has a dry weight of 3600lbs and max weight of 4600lbs. So within 4Runner towable weight rating. The trailer tongue weight is 400lbs.
Im adding rocksliders and winch and winch bumper, which adds around 250lbs, plus 400lb tongue weight, which totals 650lbs. I have 450 lb of capcity left. Im 200lbs and wife is 140. This leaves us around 110lbs of cargo capacity, which is fine for us as we will load the trailer with stuff when towing it.
Hope this helps.

I want to also state that Im no expert and also a beginning tower, so take my words with a grain of salt.
I looked up the max tow weight of our 4Runner and Pro and Trailerhunter max towable weight is 6000lbs, others 5000.
So if your trailer is below that and whatever its tongue weight doesnt put you over the 1100ish lbs of cargo capacity, you’re good to go!

You won’t be happy towing anything over 3500 pounds, trust n
Me, sure it says 6000 pounds but the car has a short wheel base, rule of thumb cut the max tow rate In half when towing. You need a half ton pickup to tow that trailer.

Short answer based on no useful information in the question is NO.

I really don’t think the 4R is a tow vehicle for RV trailers. You would have to carefully manage your load and even then would be close to max all the time. Wear and tear on the 4R would be exponential more.

can you do it, yes. Would I, no.

you really need to learn the terms and limits of towing before you do it and before you get a trailer.

I’ve been towing stuff most of my life. I’d do it with tow bars in a pinch as long as it’s no further than 200-300 miles. Any further, and I’ll stick with the GMC Sierra 2500.

That's bigger than my X213, and I wouldn't pull that with anything less than a full-size truck, maybe a LWB SUV like a Suburban.
4R + NOBO 20.7 is not a good match for actually going anywhere. I would look for a nice small hybrid, like a Shamrock 17e or an under-20 e-Pro. Or a Sequoia
