- 2023 Tesla Model Y Performance, 2024 Volvo XC60 Recharge Ultimate Dark
Whoa, that’s amazing and a no-brainer. I’m not going to lie, I’m eyeing the Rivian R2 development. I don’t tow and currently have a Model Y Performance. I’m accustomed to about 300 miles range and 0-60 in mid 3-second. That’s my daily life and I know it doesn’t align with why you get or want in a Scout. Point is, the technology is already here and advancing each year so Scout needs to compete or it’ll be niche with a fanbase that’s not really into EVs. I’ll keep my reservation and have my popcorn.I also cancelled both of my reservations but for a different reason since I do not use my vehicle for towing. In the end it will be too expensive. Hopefully the new Scout will be much more reliable than the first ones ever produced.
I am getting too accustomed to the cheap lease deals on EV's and cannot see myself ever plopping down $50K+ for a vehicle again. I just leased a 2025 Nissan Ariya for $98/mo with nothing down for 3 years. Even with my $1,700 drive off fees (tax, first payment, dealer handling, etc) that is only $5,228 to drive an EV for three years. I could repeat the process 10 times and barely reach the $50K threshold. I know the future lease deals on EV's won't be as favorable to consumers as they are right now.
