Anyone else having idle stutter on their 4runner? Is this normal? Only have 425 miles on it.

I've noticed this as well, and it seems related to the A/C.

Not sure what would be the cause, but I intend to bring it up with I go for the 5k service.

Probably right, I'm in Florida so AC is on all the time. It's annoying though, you feel the car "bump" when it does it.

Perusing the tacoma boards though, this appears normal and might be related to an emissions thing regarding idle.

I have that issue. Took me a bit to correlate it to the AC clutch or compressor kicking on. Definitely quite the “shake” it produces, but I guess it’s “normal” from the standpoint that many others have reported it on the 4Runner & Tacoma..

It's the A/C. When that is on, the idle will dip slightly as the compressor kicks in.

I assume by the comments we are dealing with non Hybrid here.

Non Hybrid here.
That makes sense. Hybrids have a electric compressor and it's super quiet so I assume no clutch involved.
On my truck I do notice a slight rpm fluctuation under 1000k and I think it's due to the ECU switching from port to direct injection. You can hear it too when outside the vehicle. D4S sounds very Diesel like.

My last car was a 2020 Highlanderz and the cars before that never exhibited that type of behavior. If they did, it wasn't noticeable as it is on the 4Runner. It's annoying feeling it engage during traffic stops or being parked.

I wonder if this is an issue with that AC compressor clutch on that part if it's happening in other vehicles with the same motor.
