I was invited to a 90 minute drive at the Porsche Experience Center in LA on Friday. It was a fun experience. There 36 of us in the class. We broke into groups for 30 minute modules. The first run was in a Cayman GTS 4.0 and we did several auto-cross laps. Then we moved to 911's to do handling laps and a wet weather skid simulation to practice recovering if the car slides. I now see why everyone loves the 911. What a magical car. We wrapped up in a Cayenne showing it's off road abilities. That last hill climb was intense. For those of you who haven't been to PECLA, it's a great way to sharpen up your skills. As the instructor said, we practice things on the track that you would never do on the street. I'm a super slow driver so the course definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone.
