Predator running board steps are too short lengths-wise in the rear

I was thinking about selling them or trading them for the long one from other companies. The problem you can’t use the running board step to climb in the rear seat.Maybe a child can ,as you can see they are welded more towards the front of the door. I am going to make a 8” extension on the rear of the step. I don’t know thee layout yet. will it be a flat piece or a tube like extension that will bolt on . What yall opinion?

Just FYI, I have very similar OEM steps to those Toyo OEM steps in your photo, in both my wife’s 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD ORP and my 5th Gen 4R TRD ORP. They work just fine to enter and exit the vehicle, when the rear doors are open. I haven’t felt the need to extend or replace them. Of course, they’re not rock sliders but serve their intended purpose well IME.
