Anyone order the rear diff skid plate? Specifically PT228-89254
Just opened the box and I am missing 2 rubber parts(circled in green). Did you get them in your kit? Toyota shows it as an exact fit. This is for the NON-Hybrid.

ATTACHED PDF SHOWS THE FOLLOWING:
4Runner
PT228-89253 -

TRD PRO/TRD OFFROAD/TRAILHUNTER HV Models

PT228-89254 -
ALL Gas Models and LIMITED/Platinum HV Models

POST INSTAL EDIT, THEY ARE NOT NEEDED FOR THE NON HYBRIDS:
1- Be VERY careful on the brake lines! I recommend you tape up the brake lines where the brackets slide under. The will likely scratch it up. See the attached instructions. I unscrewed all the brake line tie down locations. It makes it easier to move it out of the way.

2- The brackets are angled, you can install them on backwards! There is only one way they go on. Again see the instructions.

See attached PDF installation guideline, torque to spec.

Mine also did not come with it. But i noticed the rubber and metal bracket is more rectangle than square compared to the Tacoma version in the video.

not sure if leaving out the rubber parts was intentional or not

Also tip for installing the bracket, i slid on the rubber for the bracket about 3/4 of the way on and then put the metal bracket over. I pulled on the feet part of the rubber to move it and the metal bracket into final position.
If not, its a pain to get the bracket on when the rubber is fully on

Thanks for the tip, I will follow your steps for the rubber and bracket.

For anyone else reading years from now. Heres what I purchased for the non hybrid.
The front skidplate should work for either hybrid or gas model. There is a cross member behind the engine that is specific to the hybrids (I think, do your research).

Front Trd Aluminum skid: PTR60-35240
Transfercase STEEL skid: PT228-35248
Rear Diff STEEL skid: PT228-89254
This skid is shown for the 4runner and Land Cruiser as a direct fit. PT228-35242 is the Tacoma plate and comes with the rubber stops I've shown above.

The paperwork that came with the skid plate says torque to 36 Nm and in a specific order.
The transmission skid should go on first. There are 2 bolts that will get covered by the TRD skid plate (toward the front) and you will not have access to them when you put the front skid on.

If you could, keep us updated on if you need those rubbers or not. Just about ready to order the skid plate and if you do need them, I'll let the dealership know when I order them.

Thanks,

.

I didnt need it for my installation.
also i came across this ebay listing for OEM rear differential skid plate and it also shows no additional rubber that the tacoma has. So this make me feel more at ease that its not needed
