Side Storage LED Lantern - did it come with your 4Runner?

Ok just a stupid question but did you guys trucks come with the little side storage lantern already there? I know its sort of a cheesy thing but thought it was neat and a fun little extra. Much to my dismay when I went to show a friend on my trailhunter I found nothing but an empty compartment. Just curious

My trail hunter came with an empty compartment also. It’s an option of course. Pretty sad really because it’s a feature that overlanding would use. Just like the removable speaker.

Yup, it's a PIO. If your allocation hasn't arrived to port yet, your dealer can request changes to PIOs. I had mine add the $160 LED light. It's expensive and cheesy but I use my 4Runner primarily for overlanding so I wanted it.

Mine came without the lantern but after some negotiations with the dealership they provided it. Not something I would knowingly pay $160 for, it's cheesy...

Search the listings for non OEM alternates. I got a great one for $10 at Lowes. Fits nice too.

It doesn't come with it. (I thought it did from all the youtube videos) I ordered it at the dealer... A hidden flashlight/lantern can always be useful. (But expensive, sigh)

My ORP also did not come with it. I like the idea, but disappointed in the implementation. It requires three AA batteries. For the price I would have expected it to be rechargeable with charging contacts built into the storage slot or even just a usb port on the side for charging.

Thanks for sharing the link. I have the same. I searched Lowes website for 10 minutes and could not find it. Poor search tool. Its a great light and does not cost $160!!!

AA battery is safer under high temperatures.

I stuck a Leatherman's multi-purpose tool in mine. It is a snug fit and stays put without rattling around, and saves a bundle from the OEM options.
