Some Info for East Coast Allocation/Order Holders

Just thought someone waiting on their order would appreciate some info.

Mine was just delivered today 5/7. Long Island. TRD ORP Hybrid. Came off the ship that arrived in Newark and had the original estimated delivery range of 4/26 - 5/16.

A few weeks ago, I added my 4Runner VIN in the Toyota app, and recently was able to see that the vehicle had some error codes that had to do with the safety sensors. (I assume they disable some features for transport purposes.) So if you're hellbent on trying to track your delivery and don't have access to the dealer tracking tool, and have already looked at the allocation spreadsheet, add your 4Runner to the Toyota app and keep an eye out for vehicle error codes that pop up. A day after I saw the safety error codes pop up, my dealership contacted me saying it was on the way.

Also, to give anyone an idea of how long it took from allocation to delivery:

-Allocation placed 2/14

-Build started 3/18

-Ship departed from Japan 3/25

-Ship landed in the US (East Coast) 4/23

-Delivered 5/7

How do you deal with the app asking you for the 8 - digit code that you are supposed to copy from your vehicles multimedia screen? Keeping in mind that you don't have the vehicle yet.

Interesting, I never had to go through a verification process when I did it. All it asked for was the VIN and it loaded right up. I'm still able to access the vehicle data and I'm not in possession yet. Picking it up this Saturday.

Mine literally just showed up on my dealers site. I grabbed the VIN and put it in the app now problem. No verification code prompt.

Where/how did you see the error code notifications in the app?

On the vehicle tab in the app, there are three buttons on the top. Tap "Health", then if your 4Runner throws any codes it'll prompt you on the vehicle alerts section.

Gotcha. I saw the thee buttons on the “tour” of the Toyota app. They’re not popping up yet, I guess maybe not activated on the vehicle yet or something. Preciate the post/reply. Feels a little more real now with the vehicle in my phone at least!

Yeah I wish I screen recorded it. I tapped Add Vehicle (or something similar), it asked to scan the vin or manual input, I pasted the VIN from the dealer site and it was in. I think after the VIN screen it had a “complete setup” button, and that was it. As mentioned previously I don’t see the three other buttons it seems I’m supposed to be seeing to look more into the vehicle stats, so who knows if I’ll get any alerts or anything when the dealer starts it up.

FWIW- the Remote, Status, and Health buttons popped up today in the app. My ETA at the dealership is 9-14 days out. Thinking maybe the buttons showing up in the app is a sign of it being in the US or something similar. (for those as anxious as I am to take delivery, hoping this maybe this helps build a timeline of the process)

I haven't seen any evidence of any customers taking delivery with tariff charges. I asked about this at the dealer weeks ago when I put my "order" in. While sales couldn't guarantee a price until delivery, there seemed to be little to no concern of a tariff surcharge/fee getting added on top.
