I understand that the TRD off road and off road premiums come with the red Bilstein's. Do the SR5 models come with them as well? Wondering why the clearance is 1" higher on the Off Road versus SR5 and if its just the tire difference and/or the Bilsteins.
Thanks,
MB

SR5 is 245/70R17 which is something like 2" smaller tire diameter than 265/70R18 on TRD OR. Which is about 1" difference ground clearance, ignoring other factors

SR5s should have basic unbranded shocks I'm pretty sure. I thought Sport doesn't have proper Bilsteins either, so no reason for SR5 to have them. And any ride height difference from suspension would have to come from springs, not shocks.

@nubbins_ A bit off topic but I will ask, the TRD Sport model has a somewhat limited tire size: 265/55R20

When you try some online tire stores, you don't get much results for that size.

Would you have any similar size to suggest that would still fit the factory 20 inches rim and the 4Runner 6th gen while not fooling too much the odometer?

I won't lie, I would just ditch the 20s. imho kinda a nonsense wheel size for something like a 4Runner, you only start getting half decent sidewall height on 20s at like 34"+, which is almost always HD truck territory. 265/70R17 is probably one of the most common tire sizes in history.

iirc a few full size trucks like 275/55R20 as a stock tire size, which works out to be almost a 32" on the dot. It's a pretty minor difference (a "big" (esp. AT/MT in LT size) nominal 31.5" can be as big as 31.7") and F-150 has used that size since as early as 12th gen (2009-2014) I'm pretty sure. OTOH GM and RAM also used that size stock. Should have a good number of tire choices......well, about as much as can be expected for a relatively slim tire on a 20" rim I guess.

Is it me or its a weird choice from Toyota?

Here in Canada, the SR5 is already quite expensive and just to get an heated steering wheel you have to add 5k$ and jump to the next level which is the TRD Sport with that 20" tire size, at least it gives you two more colors to choose from and a few more goodies.

I am still debating going with the base SR5. Decisions!
