I’m having trouble explaining an issue I’m having with my gasoline only ORP. When fully stopped and the engine is on, the RPM slowly ticks up past 1000 rpm and then drops. During this drop, the vehicle has a sudden half second shake and the process repeats. This happens on a 5-10 second cycle or so.

No other issues and this only happens with the engine on and fully stopped. Is this normal or is something going on?

Mine does the same thing when I'm stopped at a red light, sometimes it feels like the motor is going to shut off but at almost 500 miles I'm just getting use to it.

SR5 here, and mine does this too when idling. When it’s in the garage I can hear a click right before the shake. Hope it’s nothing serious.

Mine does the same. It's not jarring or anything but it's definitely there.

It sounds like the AC compressor is just engaging and disengaging. The idle speed will increase when it engages, and the idle speed will drop when it disengages. The clutch on the compressor will also make a clicking noise as it engages and disengages.

Oh yeah, this was my thought as well, I’ll check with A/C off.

Just confirmed, this doesn’t happen when the A/C is off. But maan, how powerful is this compressor to give a 6000 lb truck a mini shake??

I figured it out last week once it started getting warm in NY!
