I’m a contractor/carpenter as a trade. So I have a little 5x8 and a 16x6 utility trailer. I honestly have no idea what weight I’ve gotten up to with them, but my current F150 handles it just fine. I can only assume with a 10k expected towing that I should still be able to do what I do.

i remember TFL doing a range test on the F150 Lightning with a trailer and them only managing something like 90 miles. That was a no-go for me as that kind of mileage is pretty likely for me with either trailer. So hoping the Terra Harvester can achieve much better range than that.

I’ll be towing our vintage ski boat about a mile to and from the storage unit and the launch ramp on the lake. The boat and trailer weigh about 4000 lb. Currently we drive our 2022 GMC Yukon an hour and a half to get to the lake. Round trip it’s over half a tank of gas. I should be able to get there, launch and retrieve the boat and get home in a single charge. This seems like the perfect use of an EV for towing.

Love my fellow water & boat lovers! What range are you expecting for a single charge?

21’ Egret Moccasin 210. Weighs about 3,000lbs with the full aluminum trailer. I need to be able to tow 150 miles to the coast. Real world, I need about 190 miles of range for security.

We were really hoping to get one of these with the Harvester for boondocking, but I am not so sure now after the Jay Leno Garage interview.

5,000lbs would really limit our trailer choices, and I have a family of 6 so we cant go with a small teardrop.

I reserved the Traveler with Harvester in October but reserved a Terra with Harvester in April after the Leno interview in case it ends up with a higher rating.

Put a deposit in Traveler Harvester. Thinking something like this would be perfect my girlfriend and I to travel around & visit the National Parks and beautiful areas of the different states.

I too have placed an order for the Terra Harvester. We pull an enclosed car trailer which checks in at about 8500 pounds when fully loaded for endurance races. Almost always being constrained for travel times makes frequent stops for charging a non-starter, so the gas engine charrging system is a must if we go the EV truck route. Needing to drop the trailer for charging will be a big negative but most charging stations are not properly configured for folks towing trailers. The one thing that is not clear to me is what are the various storage spots in the Terra, excluding the Frunk. I find the Rambox system on our current Ram 1500 to be a great place for hitch ball mounts, tow straps etc. I am also curious about what towing/trailer technology will be included or available. Supporting trailer cameras and TMPS are things that should be included.
Correct me if I’m wrong. But didn’t they say on Jay Leno’s garage episode, TFL EV, and Out of Spec Reviews that the towing capacity drops considerably when you switch from EV (10,000 lbs) to the Harvester (5,000 lbs)? I think this has been confirmed by Scout. It’s pretty disappointing for the Harvester in my opinion because it says that they aren’t putting a good enough engine in there to charge the battery under a load.

This has been discussed a lot in the official forum and the past two times it stirred up a lot of folks Jamie from Scout chimed in and said that towing figures are not confirmed yet.

They are still working on ways to increase the towing capacity but the numbers aren’t finalized yet.

Lot of wishful thinking in range in this thread. If the battery in the harvester is 150 miles, and the harvester will kick in at 30% or more when towing, and range gets cut by 50% when towing, you’re looking at around 50 miles before the harvester has to turn on. Then if the gas range is 350, and half that when towing, you get another 175 max. Then each fill up without charging gets maybe another 175, assuming the harvester can keep the battery from depleting while towing.

If the towing capacity is high enough, we will pull our 25’ Airstream Flying Cloud.
