Prior to off roading some my TRD PRO was very smooth feeling at all speeds. Even as fast as 90 on the highway.

Now, following some minor off roading on old forest roads where nothing but the tires touched anything it is riding very rough at highway speeds 45mph and up. Vehicle vibrates badly, enough so that I thought the rear seat was not latched back into the upright position correctly. However, This was not the case. At speeds under 45 it rides as smooth as ever.

Looked under her and don’t see anything visibly wrong.

I have to leave it parked for a few weeks as I have to go across the country for some obligations.

Any ideas??

If it persists once I get back I will take it into a dealer, but trying to avoid this as they are a haul from my house

thanks in advance

I had the same issue with mine. I took it back to the dealer twice. First time, they told me the front two tires are out of road force balance. It stayed at the dealer for 4 days till they replaced the front two tires and then I took it home. I rode the truck for two days and it started vibrating again. I took it back to the dealer, they said we will have to try different remedies. They kept the truck for 3 days and still couldn’t figure out what the issue was so I finally said I don’t want this truck anymore. It can’t be this new and have this issue!

So are they doing a buyback? Lemon law?

Wonder if the off-roading is throwing something out of whack that wasn’t installed properly from the factory?

Luckily, they were able to cancel the deal and give me my money back. I placed my name on another truck that will arrive late July, hopefully it’s not a glitch on the first batch of vin numbers.

Thats a good thing they didn’t give you a hard time to lemon it (or did they just buy it back to sell to someone else?)
How long did you have it and how many miles?

Maybe a wheel weight (used for balancing wheels) fell off while off roading?

I've owned many crappy cars/trucks in my life (growing up poor FTW...sometimes :D ), and the following two statements are almost always true.

If it vibrates above 45 and gets worse as speed increases, it's pretty much going to be a wheel/tire balance issue. Distant second place here goes to suspension.

If if vibrates at a specific speed range, stops above and below that, and is also throttle/off-throttle dependent, it's a u-joint.

In this case, you probably knocked a wheel weight off, or have a giant ball of mud stuck in the barrel. Making it really off-balance.

I had it for 10 days 6 out of the 10 days were at the dealership. It roughly made 500 miles and most of them were test driving the car after every remedy they did

Was the stock suspension and tires still on it?

Wondering if they would still take it back or spend so much time trying to fix it if it wasn’t stock.

Making me feel like I should take it off road before changing anything to see if the same problem shows up.

Thanks.

Thanks for the insight. Will check this once I get back
