I brought my SR5 in for an oil change @2300.miles. I had a short list of things for them. 1. Brake squeal. (they are fixing it under the TSB, waiting on parts) 2. Official Repair of the Air Dam (whether or not It goes back on is up to me, not Toyota. No official fix)
3. Loose fitting fender flares (they all are like that) I picked up 2 bolts for the added skid plate ($6)

Interesting. When I took mine in for its first oil change, I asked about the brake squeal service bulletin and was told the problem had to be repeatable by them and very noticeable. It would be an all-day service. I declined because I've heard it only a couple of times and can't make it happen on demand.

Did you run your vehicle through a car wash? I did and that is the only possible thing that could have broke one or two of the fasteners for our air dam. Dealer just replaced them when I took it in for the first service. Leaving it on to see what happens this winter. If the car wash did that the snow is going to rip it off.

I only handwash(spray booth). I didn't hit anything. The whole design is a joke. But simple locktite during install would have slowed down most failures. I just want to compare with/without for myself, before the snow flies here. But of course the Dealership doesn't have any clips or screws
No big deal either way

I was 1,000 miles or so from home and wanted the coating of bugs off the car so I ran it through a car wash which I don't normally do. Your dealer must not be very good. Took our Sequoia to ours for the 20 years we had it. Ours had the clips. The ones I could see were just the ordinary push pins that you can find in most auto parts stores. Our dealer is also installing lift kits, something I have never seen a dealer do before. There was a new Tacoma in the lot a few days ago that they just finished. Depending how winter goes the air dam may come of and a lift/leveling kit may go on.
