Unknown Delivery Date stuck in port?

Supposedly mine shpiped early last week, the info I received this week is that it’s still in route and expected to be processed off the boat on the 27th. I didn’t realize it took 4 weeks to arrive from Japan.

I think yours and mine are hanging out at the Portland port together. I had the same thing happen where the delivery dates went blank for a few days. They updated yesterday to be by May 15th. It was originally May 8th. I'm picking mine up in NW Washington so likely waiting for a truck to bring it from Portland to the dealer.

There are ways to track the boat hauling the car. I was able to find the ship taking mine to Portland.

Update. We canceled our reservation and drove a couple hrs to secure one that was on the ground. Now a two 4Runner family. While we were signing papers on it people were coming
In to try and buy these things are flying off the lot.

It takes some internet sleuthing. Mine car is going to a dealer in Spokane, so it was almost certainly being processed in Portland. I used this site and looked at expected ship arrivals in Portland that were coming from the port nearest the plant in Japan (I’m sorry it’s escaping my mind what the Japanese city is).

Somewhat off topic but does anyone know when the dealer gets the Certificate of Origin from Toyota? Is it when it shows up on the lot? The CO is needed in Massachusetts to register the vehicle and I was trying stage things so the time lag between when it gets to the dealer and when it gets to me is minimized.

Idk if this is the same thing but I was trying to price insurance while I was waiting. Progressive didn’t recognize my VIN until a couple days after arrival (presumably after customs). Maybe the same thing for you?

I know what you mean. Here is a set of photos of my 2020 4R. The after photo is due to a 80 yr old lady falling asleep at 65 mph and hitting my driver rear wheel. Ripped it from the rear axle and I rolled it three times. I had to fright insurance to recover money for extras.
