I put down a deposit for a 2025 4Runner TRD ORP on 6/16. The suv wont be in for another ( estimated) two weeks. We’ve already signed a contract ( dealer and I) for the OTD price on the vehicle. I’m wondering if these tariffs kick in before I take ownership of the vehicle will the price of my new runner go up despite having signed a contract?

signed contract doesnt mean squat.

all that matters is that the vehicle is inside the usa before the tariffs are in place.

if the vehicle is outside the usa then the tariffs apply during unload from a RORO once it hits port.

You’re fine. Toyota is absorbing the cost of any tariffs for the time being.

I cannot speak to the OP's question.

But, I did find the process for getting thru customs on our SR5 a little bit drawn out. This may not be totally accurate, but I believe that our 4R arrived at LA, was shipped by rail to Houston, and after port options were installed there it finally went thru customs. We were under the treat of tariffs at the time as well.

I think that it was about a two week process after it arrived on the west coast. I guess that I had no knowledge of the process before hand.

That's the usual process.

By law a contract is an offer, acceptance and consideration. If you put down a non-refundable deposit you should have a valid legal contract. If no deposit (or possible a refundable deposit) then there is no enforceable contract. Also if the contract says price is subject to change, then you have not locked in the final price. However most dealers and Toyota will honor the price quoted.
