Toyota North America CEO said they are keeping them at port so they can increase prices from tariffs and be slick

It's not really a parking lot, the port is where they install all the factory options you or the dealer picked up for the cars, so if they need to modify anything ( ok probably not replace a transmission, but smaller things) they are equipped to do it there.

That makes total sense now. Did not realize that. First time Toyota buyer if it ever gets here. Thanks for clearing that up

Texted my dealer today regarding my TDR Sport Premium based on what others have shared with the QC hold. As of May 15th, it arrived in the states and was pending loading on the train to MO. He said mine was affected and was told something was missed during installation at the factory so it should be a quick fix and should only last about a week and a half.

Original date from the allocation sheet was 5/25-6/28 so the dealer is estimating we are still on track or a couple days behind. Fingers crossed it gets here soon!

could simply be the detaching air dam issue, which is an obvious growing issue. as much as Toyota reluctantly put them on, not sure they want them flinging off on the highway, or droves of new owners returning to complain at the dealerships

qc hold status will not id what is causing the hold status.

all it will say in dealerdaily is qc hold and status duration.

so dealers will not have any way to id what is causing it and regional ports will not tell dealers what is causing it.

the only people that may know is the techs clearing out the hold status in the system. you will need for one of them to blab unofficially to someone to get a real idea.

just to add, my 23 tundra was put into qc hold status from around 16 dec-2022 and didnt come out until mid feb-2023. was never told what is was.

I’ve asked my dealership to remove the air dam before I take ownership. No response on that yet, but I plan to hold them to it! I don’t want to be held responsible for it flying off. Although it appears easy to remove, I don’t want to store it or throw it away either.

Did you have any issues with the Tundra? Since that was such a long hold were you able to negotiate a better price or anything??

my price was locked in at invoice before it was even built.

i currently have 4 tsb assigned to our tundra.

1. fuel line
2. vehicle may move while in neutral position
3. reserve lamps may become inoperable
4. engine may stall during driving (tsb to replace the whole engine with a new long block)

outside of those, have had a perfect vehicle, not one issue but then again we are at 14k miles just over 2 yrs old.

here is my final sales sheets showing i paid 62,758 for the price of the tundra (i had a $700 bed cover installed)

and the window sticker showing the msrp was $67,782

My sport premium is on hold as well.

This is odd, what I know is ALL the 4Runners are on QC Hold. I'm waiting on my Trailhunter which doesn't have an air dam in Front... (Hmmm)

Not sure how true it is. Could be a brake fix since it’s apparently an issue as well.
