Just talked to my dealer.
My Trailhunter is on a QC hold.
I'm being told that all of the Trailhunter's in New England are waiting on the built in air compressor.
There is no resupply date mentioned.

I know what it is, I heard from the source that it's ..

Wait, who are you?

No,no, no...

Bang!

It was...

:)
It most likely due to missing items. Lack of JBL flex speakers would cause a QC hold. I worked unloading cars off railcars so i understand what happens. Every car is inspected once its in its loadline or parking spot, then allowed to be shipped. Stolen items would keep cars for a long time until a replacement was setup. As I dont see the speakers on the secondary I think that the speaker shortage is most likely. Plus it seems the QC hold is only affecting JBL flex vehicles, and dealers being told to remove the chin spoiler.
Mines got caught up in the QC hold too but I have an sr5 so no I’ll speaker 😭

I'm not really seeing anything common around the ones that are on hold. I know many are in New England but there are some across the country.

My Trailhunter was built on 5/12 getting on the boat soon and no QC hold. In fact, the estimated delivery date moved up a week today.

That's cool, mine is in the SouthEast, and not on the list... :( I have to rely on my dealership for delivery. There are not many common items on all the 9 trims, aside from the engine/transmission (Hybrid is tacked on to it) and that engine is used to other models. (Same for the frame) Unique to all and only all 9 4runner trims...

Mine had an availability date of 5/23, which disappeared on the 24th, but today has returned with 6/17. Annoying that it’s pushed back but at least I have a date again.

Wonder how many potential buyers across the country have moved on to a different brand because of these delays?
I bet discounts will be getting pretty big come July.

So far on this forum I think 2 people opted out. I'm sure there are alot more outside of it. Since I have a date, and a car I can use in the meantime, I'm hanging on, but if it starts moving, past end of June, I'll just give up and start shopping for something else... Unless they come out and explain what is the QC for and what the issue is they are running into.

For Example the Plastic-thing-a-magic has issue in some 4Runners, and we are expecting a shipment of them from ACME-R-Us to Arrive within a month, and once installed, we'll release all the 4Runners.

But I doubt that will ever happen. :) So I'm holding on to the end of this month, with my fingers crossed.

There is no way that a major vehicle manufacture would begin building 4 runners or any other model for that matter without advanced preparations (mis in plas). That includes securing all third party components with assurance that they can deliver and meet their contractual agreement. Lets remember that Toyota, Ford, Nissan etcetera are all in the business of selling vehicles, not having them sit at the port collecting dust. Another thing to note Toyota is a Japanese company and stand firmly behind kaizen (Japanese term) and when things go sideways it's a reflection on them as a company, which is an embarrassment, which back in the day lead to a samurai sword. The fact that there is zero information regarding this hold and if there is information and they are keeping it so close to the vest there may be pause for concern. I think my salesman said it best. Just eat a gummy and relax...
