What is "Quality Hold" Status

My trd orp has been on Long Beach since early May. I was told by my dealership that there are several reasons to include the air dam, rear spoiler, squeaky brakes, air compressor part shortage in the trailhunters and jbl speaker shortage.

It has to be something the port can fix, otherwise they would send to the dealers to fix a major issue

Have there been any SR5’s or non premiums placed on QC hold? That would help some speculations (JBL speaker)

Every trim is on QC hold. 3000+ 4Runners on hold.

In checking in with my dealer no new info, however.. the timeline they get (same info from spreadsheets) did have a change in the status announcement.

“Estimated Dealer Arrival: QC Hold on -05/15/2025-QUALITY CONFIRMATION ACTIVITY - Vehicle delayed for 42 days- ETA unavailable”

used to say “… delayed for 30 days”

take that as you will

Yea but that doesn't really check out....many more vehicles are on hold than just premium trims and trailhunters w/ the compressor.

Further - why wouldn't they just send them to the dealers to install? Especially if it was a JBL speaker.

That was my thought too. I was assuming another round number for extension (60 day etc). Who knows

I believe the jbl speakers and the air compressors are port installed items, which would make sense. And the hold is also because of the air dam issues, rear spoiler issues and the brake squealing which affects all trims. So they have multiple reasons to hold the vehicles, check them out, make fixes if necessary and install items.

Just heard from the dealer (Ardmore Toyota, in PA - has been stuck at the Philly port since 5/15) that my ORP w/ iForce Max moved to “F status” and has a date of 6/6 -6/12 now. Hoping it doesn’t change and we actually get it next week!

My GM received an email today that starting Today 06/06 the port will start the process of finalizing POI and start shipping to dealers again. Will try and post the bulletin from Toyota later today
