Oh, that sucks... I wish you luck.

I wanted to buy before the tariffs hit, it's on US soil, so I escaped that.

I just hit my dealer up today about my ORP, the window for deliver was supposed to start today.

Now they say its going to likely be in July due to the Quality Control hold and was sent the following generic response from Toyota:

However, quality control holds are a normal part of Toyota's process and can occur for various reasons.
Here's what you should know:
  • QC Holds Happen: Toyota sometimes places vehicles on hold to inspect for potential defects or perform necessary fixes before they reach dealerships.
  • Not Always 30 Days: While a 30-day hold is mentioned, QC holds can vary in length.
  • Reasons for Holds: These holds can be triggered by a range of issues, from minor defects like faulty paint or loose door hinges, to more significant problems like software updates or safety recalls.
  • Dealer Communication: Dealers might not always have specific details about the reason for a QC hold, as Toyota doesn't always provide extensive explanations.
  • Focus on Quality: The purpose of these holds is to ensure that vehicles meet Toyota's quality standards before they are delivered to customers.
In summary: If your 4Runner's delivery is delayed due to a QC hold, it doesn't mean there's a major issue with your specific vehicle, but rather that Toyota is taking steps to ensure the quality of its vehicles.
All very true and this hold has been labeled QC534-Air dam service/replacement so it’s supposedly just for the air dam. My dealership also heard that stock of the air compressors for trailhunters and the jbl speakers for premium models have been on back order which has also led to the delay.

Curious, where is everyone able to track whether its on a truck or in the US or not?

I have a VIN number but no idea where I can track it.

You and me both, mines still in Long Beach :(
How long has yours been in Long Beach? Mine too.. my deposits were place in April, ORP arrived in Long Beach on 5/23 and I have no estimated ETA- dealer hasn’t been helpful either- just keeps saying no updates. Originally I was supposed to take delivery 5/29

Mine arrived in Long Beach on 04/28, and was placed on the qc hold on 05/15. No eta currently. The 42 day hold is up on 06/26 so here’s hoping.

Rant on/

I really feel that Toyota should revamp there in-house vehicle tracking system such that it not only shows where each vehicle is in it's readiness to be shipped to a dealer, but also if there is a delay specifically what the delay is. This information should then be shared with the dealer. There should be transparency with the customer who is spending a lot of money.

Rant off/

Not sure what status "F" is but my 4Runner shipped by rail to Kansas City starting on May 2nd. My car ETA was May 30th at dealership. My dealership emailed me on May 27th and told me that my 4Runner was put on QC Hold. Not sure if QC Hold was placed on the 27th or some date before that but the 27th is when I was notified of QC Hold. My delay was about 2 weeks out from my original ETA date of May 30th.
