I got a call on Monday that mine was out of quality hold status and would be getting to the dealership late this week or early next week. It disappeared from the dealer website and the spreadsheet this morning, so I'm hopeful.

Absolutely stunning, $48k is where im at after down payment and trade in on my hybrid ORP
I picked up this set of wheels and a set of the fixed running boards for $550. I had already planned on changing out the tires but needed the running boards and couldn’t pass up the deal. I will trade my OEM tires in for a credit with Discount tire and sell three of the factory SR5 wheels so they can be used as a full size spare.

How much credit does Discount Tires give you per tire?

For the SR tires 245/70/17 I was told by the store manager $75-100 each depending on mileage. They have to buy them as low as possible as they have to sell them as used no matter how many miles. My dealer to the DT store is less than a mile.

Just out of pure curiosity
everyone whose vehicles have been sitting at that port, you only have a minimum deposit down or substantial money down? Mine should be at the port tomorrow and im only out $500
My dealer did not want a deposit. I have the paper work with my Limited build with the Vin number and there was no mark up. Some dealers are better than others. In Southern California there are more Toyota dealerships. My dealer said if I did not want the car he has other buyer customers that would want my build.

What port was your car at that was being released?

I think LA. Mine was in the country when I picked it out in early May, so port wasn't all that relevant to me.

If you live in the Western States Long Beach, CA would be your port. Then the car gets loaded off the ship and goes to the Toyota Long Beach Facility where all the accessories you ordered are installed or the car sits outside ready for delivery by truck or train. There has been a Quality Control hold since late April even for the cars waiting to be shipped. The Midwest and Eastern U.S. have their own ports. I have heard that some cars were released from the Midwest and Eastern port but not the Long Beach port. My car arrived in late April and is still sitting at the Long Beach Toyota Facility. This is so frustrating to many Toyota buyers. This is only happening to the 4Runners. It is time for Toyota to start communicating to both the dealers and the customers about this Quality Control hold. This has to be more than the bolts that hold on the air dam.

I completely agree. I live in CO and my orp arrived at the Long Beach port on 04/28 and was placed on the hold on 05/15. No current eta and has been extended to the 56 day hold. The qc is labeled QC534-Air dam service/replacement. I agree there is more to the story. My dealer heard there were supply issues for the jbl speakers, air compressors etc which has caused a back log of vehicles sitting at the ports. For a huge release like this, this is ridiculous. And Toyotas lack of communication is frustrating.

100% frustrated with the situation
This is my first new purchase and first Toyota.
The excitement of a new vehicle is wearing off
My ORP arrived in Long Beach April 15th & was put on hold 5/15…. I wasn’t notified of the hold until until 5/31 with a release date of 6/15! Just talked to my dealer today & still no answers.

Anyone here in AZ dealing with the same issue?

Yes. I am in AZ waiting on my ORP too. I put a deposit down in April w/an estimated ETA of 5/29-06/14. The ORP arrived in Long Beach Port 5/15, and then I was notified by the dealer on 5/23 of the hold and was told usually only a couple weeks- well, it's been longer than a couple weeks! Every time I reach out for answers, they have nothing as to why or any kind of ETA. They did call me last week to offer a different ORP to me, but it wasn't the color choice I wanted, so I didn't want to settle. Luckily, I don't need a new vehicle; this is just a want.

You are buying a brand new expensive car
That was supposed to had been released in September of 2024 but things dragged on until the first quarter of 2025 and some dealers were requiring a $500 deposit but if you had a relationship with the dealer they waved the deposit. Picking a color of a car is very personal and I would not want a different color. So I understand how you feel. I wanted the Limited iForce Max Underground Gray exterior with the tan Portobello leather interior. My dealer got my allocation with my colors I wanted but like many it has been sitting for a few months now. I have kept my 1997 4Runner Limited since I bought it new in 1997. Due to my age this will probably be my last car I will order for my daily driver car. Just wish Toyota would be honest and tell us all of why the QC hold. If this is because of the air dam or the speaker I could take deliver without the air dam and the speaker and get it fix later on. I just want my car.

I went through Big Two in Chandler. This will be my second Toyota I purchase through them. I have also purchased two other Toyotas through Berge in Mesa Riverview. I personally don’t have a specific preference between the two dealers but I preferred one I have worked with before. I truly think Toyota is leaving the dealer in the dark a bit- they do answer me same day every time I have reached out, they just don’t have updates to provide, and they seem just as frustrated as me.

That’s the biggest thing I’ve experienced as well. My dealer has been pretty good about reaching out when I’ve inquired. The problem is that he doesn’t have any info because Toyota is god awful with communication. The lack of communication from Toyota about the qc hold and this whole process is infuriating.
